Resident Evil 4 Remake brings a whole host of new features to an already excellent game. The addition of Blue Request Notes are one such feature and completing them will reward you with useful items and other resources. This page focuses on the second of these requests, the pest control request found at the start of Chapter 2.
Pest Control is the second Merchant Request in RE4 Remake.

Where to Find All 3 Rats¶
The second Blue Note Request comes near the start of Chapter 2, after you make your escape from the Abandoned Factory and meet with the Merchant for the first time. Hold off on purchasing anything just yet, and instead, look to the right of him to find the note that will begin this request.
It’s a rather simple request, and one you can complete right here without having to go further through the Chapter. The merchant wants you to take our three rats that have infested the Abandoned Factory you just escaped from. You may have noticed these while you were skulking about in the shadows taking out the villagers.
You can start this request by examining the note next to the Merchant.
Rat #1¶
Go back through the main doors of the Abandoned Factory and head right to return to the double-sided corridor. As you reach the corner, you’ll spot the rat so take aim with your Pistol and take it out.
Rat #2 and #3¶
The other two Rats can be found in the large furnace room of the Abandoned Factory, which you can return to by leaping through the broken window from the double-sided corridor. You’ll spook the first rat here, but ignore it for now and head towards the center to spot another rat you can easily shoot before it gets spooked.

Head to the other side of the room and then run around to face the window you leaped through and you’ll notice the rat has stopped scurrying about. Take aim, shoot the rat and then make your triumphant return to the Merchant just outside the Abandoned Factory.
If this is your first time speaking to the Merchant and you completed the first Request, you’ll hand both in here and obtain a total of 6 Spinels. Handy, because the Merchant has a Treasure Map (that will display all treasures in the Village on it) and the powerful Punisher Pistol for a total of 6 Spinels, a fair trade indeed.
