An Unexpected Visitor

Remobra often are heralds of the much more dangerous Elder Dragons that rule this realm.

That is the Dah’ren Mohran , the infamous elder dragon who roams the desert sands. Like a giant whale, it plows through and destroys everything in its path. And it looks like it’s headed for the town we’re going to be arriving at! Dah’ren Mohran will initiate the attack by attacking your ship, sending you flying as the ship tips. To hold on, press the R shoulder button (or ZR on the Circle Pad Pro) and hold. This will use your stamina. Don’t worry though, if you fall off, you will be pulled up on a safety line. Move forward and then press A to arrive back on the ship.

The arrows will tell you where to go, brave hunter!

It looks like the Caravaneer’s hat has gotten stuck on one of Dah’ren Mohran’s horns! Good thing you’re here to help him out. Once Dah’ren Mohran is close to the ship, you’ll see red arrows marking where you can go and step onto his body. Run as quickly as you can to where his hat fell and press A to retrieve it. Afterwards, either get back onto the ship or jump straight into the sand and use the safety line again.

Unfortunately, there’s still the problem of the Dah’ren Mohran being very close to the town where the people are. There’s more work to be done to keep the civilians there safe! It’s up to us to repel the Dah’ren Mohran while the Caravaneer calls in reinforcements. The Caravaneer will point you to one of the ship’s many defenses: the Cannons. Go to where the Cannon Ammo is located, pick some up, and press the R shoulder button or its CPP equivalent to hike it over to the Cannon. Press A to activate the Cannon! After you deal enough damage, Dah’ren Mohran will flinch and then jump over your ship to the other side to reinitiate another assault. Continue using cannonballs.

After you’ve done enough damage, the Caravaneer will alert you to a strong incoming attack from the Dah’ren Mohran. Drop whatever you have and run to where he is standing to avoid the attack. If you can’t make it in time however, no worries. There is no health bar, as this is a tutorial to get your feet wet. Use what you’ve learned and press R to steady yourself or, if you get knocked up, make your way up the safety line and back to the ship. After this is over, use more cannonballs.

After you’ve done enough damage again, the Caravaneer will tell you now is the time to use another one of the ship’s defenses: the Gong. Dah’ren Mohran has very sensitive hearing so the Gong will cause it to flinch. Run over to where the button for the Gong is and wait for the Caravaneer to tell you. Right after he is finished talking, press A and ring the Gong.

Enjoy the resulting cutscene and congratulations, you just helped save the town! Welcome to Val Habar!
