Flying Wyverns are the most iconic in the franchise, home to some of the most recongizable monsters, including the flagship Rathalos. Considered a rite of passage by many to hunt their first Flying Wyvern, they are known for their impressive flight skills. Many can wield fire, others are masters of poison, electricity, and even blast. All Flying Wyverns are bipedal, walking on two hind legs and using their forelimbs as wings, much like a bird. Flying Wyverns can be broken into two subcategories: True Flying Wyverns, which cannot use their wings at all and walk exclusive on their hind legs, and Pseudo Flying Wyverns, which have highly developed forelegs that function both as front legs and wings.
