Usage Tips

As usual, positioning and planning are the names of the game. Remain in optimal range for as long as you can, and don’t ever get hit. There are several shot types for bows. They are dependent on the Bow and cannot change. Rapid shoots multiple arrows. Pierce shoots a single arrow that will continue through the monster, damaging it all the way, and is great for large or long monsters with a lot of monster to hit. Spread shoots multiple arrows in an arc. Try to get all arrows to hit with this shot.

There are many variations of power and arc shots as well, so play around with what you like best. Focus, for example, will rain arrows down on a specific area. Blast will make the shots explosive. Power shots will add an additional charge level to the arrow for more damage.

Experiment with Coatings as well. Bows are great for inflicting status. When using the Bow, always use the Charged Shot . Aim for level 3 charges. Don’t just sit there pressing R over and over again. Charging up the shot dramatically increases power! You can move around while charging!

Recommended Skills

Focus is almost essential to any Bow user. It will noticeably speed up the time it takes to reach level 3. Any of the Shot Up skills are great as well. Normal Up will increase the power of Rapid shots, for example. Use the skill that corresponds to the Bow you are using. Marathon Runner decreases the rate at which your stamina depletes as you charge your Bow, waiting for an opening. You cannot overcharge once you hit level 3 so feel free to hit level 3 and stick around, waiting. There are many different skills that affect coatings as well that you can experiment with.
