Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Daimyo Hermitaur

By
Vincent Lau

A giant crab that inhabits the Dunes for some reason because don’t crabs need water to survive, Daimyo Hermitaur is a hermit who inhabits Monoblos skulls. I’m pretty sure Daimyo Hermitaur would be utterly crushed by a living Monoblos so they’re probably scavenged skulls. Daimyo Hermitaur wields water elemental abilities and likes to attack with its claws and Monoblos’s spike. A usually peaceful, docile creature who has poor eyesight, Daimyo Hermitaur’s life pursuits involve finding someone it can hug.

**Area** **Start** **Roam** **Rest**
Primal Forest 3 1, 4, 5 9
Dunes 7 1, 2, 4 3

Attacks

Hug: Daimyo Hermitaur holds its claws out wide for a hug. I know, hugs are great, but Daimyo Hermitaur has really, really strong hugging muscles which means it will hurt you, so you’ll have to stay away.

Claw Swipe: Daimyo Hermitaur swipes at you with one claw. Will hit for small damage and trip you.

Claw Push: Daimyo Hermitaur pushes you with both claws. Another small attack that will trip you, but still stay away.

Burrowing Horn Thrust: Daimyo Hermitaur burrows underground, then pops up to send the Monoblos horn of its shell shooting upwards to impale you from below. This attack will hit like a truck and has two variations: Either it does two homing pokes, or it does seven randomly chosen pokes.

Burrowing Pincer: Daimyo Hermitaur likes to do this after the burrowing horn thrust. Daimyo Hermitaur will poke half of its body out of the ground, hold out its claws, then try to give you a big hug. This is a pin attack.

Waterjet: Daimyo Hermitaur’s mouth fills up with foam, and then it will shoot a small, bubbling water jet which causes Waterblight. In rage mode, it will scuttle one side to sweep it across an area. Or, it will combo it with a short burst, step back, short burst, step back, then side scuttle.

Jump: Daimyo Hermitaur will jump up and then land.

Buttlaunch: Daimyo Hermitaur will fling itself backwards towards you.

Shell Retreat: Daimyo Hermitaur will retreat into its shell. All weapons will bounce and bullets will be deflected. Wait a few seconds or toss a Sonic Bomb to bust it out.

Breakable Parts

Shell: Can be broken twice. First time it is broken, the left eye socket of the shell will be chipped.

Claw: Each claw can be broken once.

Weaknesses

Elemental: Thunder, Fire, Ice

Status: Poison, Blast
