Sarapeion of Karanis¶
Fast travel to Karanis and from the fast travel point head northwest to reach the site of a murder scene. Talk to the man - Epigonos - near the body and he’ll blame Wadjet cultists for the deed and, in an odd twist, Bayek will offer to help the Phylakitai get to the bottom of this bloody business.
Head northwest into the temple, while Epigonos will follow you and speak about the murders. Enter the temple and head over to the statue at the northwestern end of the temple and use your Animus Pulse to highlight objects of interest around the crime scene, then search a chair and the base of the statue. Once done, climb the statue and search its right shoulder and finally head southwest onto the balcony to find a note on a bloody bed. Seems these murders were racially - and religiously - motivated, and for a change it’s the Greeks getting the worst of it.
Before you head back down to Epigonos and get back to business, take a short diversion to grab the Papyrus Puzzle Scroll nearby. Southeast of the bloody bed, on a table behind a screen, you’ll find the scroll “ The Leaning Tower “. You’ll actually bother with solving the puzzle later, but you may as well complete the event, while you’re up here.

Assassinating the Assassins¶
Drop back down to the floor of the temple and talk to Epigonos, who doesn’t take the potential assassination of the high priest lightly. Not only is the guy supposedly the heart and soul of Karanis, but… oh, boy will Epigonos get in trouble if he’s assassinated under his watch! Follow him outside and climb the wall to reach one of the indicated spots, where you’ll be able to spot the assassination attempt in progress. Epigonos’s courage will fail him, leaving it up to you to descend to the villa below and kill the bandits.
After you do, the high priest and Epigonos will talk to you, concluding this quest. While this simple quest may be done, after it’s over the quest “ Feeding Faiyum “ will become available.
