Freeing Theodoros¶
East of Nitria you’ll find a road running northeast/southwest, leading all the way down until it runs parallel with the northern shore of Lake Moeris. Somewhere along this road you’ll find a caged man named Theodoros, screaming at the soldiers who hold him captive. Seems like an upstanding guy, so kill the half-dozen or so guards around him, smash his cage open, carry the guy out, then talk to him.
Turns out he’s trying to kill a general named Derratos, but he and his allies have been unsuccessful so far… but with your powers combined, you might just be able to pull it off. Follow him back to where his allies are camped - marked on your map as the Bakchias point of interest - killing any soldiers that happen to pester you along the way. When you arrive, Theodoros will be told some bad news - Derratos is no longer present at his camp, and refusing to settle for anything less than a complete victory, you’ll be assigned the task of abducting Derratos’s scribe so he can be questioned as to his master’s location.
Bakchias¶
Before you leave, head past the shrine building into the mountains at the northern end of the ruins and turn east to find a pit you can descend down, courtesy of a ladder. Climb down, loot some lesser containers for random goodies, then turn north again to find a cobra-guarded ladder leading back up. Kill the snake and climb the ladder to find a red chest - this area’s location objective.

Stealing a Scribe¶
Your goal now is Karanis, to the southwest. Yep, that’s near where the main quest picks up. Amazing how these side quests lead you right where you need to go! Except for when they don’t. Anyways, make your way southeast back to the road and follow it southwest until you near Lake Moeris, where it’ll turn west and run right past Kanaris. Not only will you unlock a fast travel point just by approaching, but there’s another, optional fast travel point you can scale and synchronize with, should you wish.
When you’re done messing around, deploy Senu and locate the scribe, who is probably drunk off his ass somewhere, guarded by two axe-and-shield weilding brutes (level 24). They won’t bug you if you don’t get too close, so you can easily take one out all sneaky-like, then quickly dispatch the isolated brute. Once they’re both dead, pick up the scribe, leave Karanis, summon your mount and return to Bakchias. Drop him off at the indicated spot and this quest will end. The obvious follow-up quest “ Rebel Strike “ can be found a ways southwest, and hence you might as well quest your way to it. If you want to get right to it, skip to the aforementioned page, otherwise… well, you’ll get there by completing other side quests.
