The following sections cover the optional content and areas that you can progress/complete at this point.

Phoenix

Warp to any town and rest at the Inn for the skits The Ultimatum and An Intense Match and then warp to the Shrine of the Fire Trial for a scene.

Boss: Phoenix

HP Category Weakness Resistance
14,612 Winged None Fire, Water, Wind
Drops: **None**

Before attempting this fight I suggest you max all of your character’s Blast Gauge to allow you to do multiple Mystic Artes with each of the seraphs and take note of which armatized Martial Artes will create a Power Hits combo. Doing these two things to allow you to keep Phoenix in a Power Hits combo, followed by multiple Mystic Artes will make this fight significantly easier.

Looking at the HP of this boss you might think, “14k HP, this will be an easy fight.”, but Phoenix lives up to his name and will regenerate his entire health pool at least three times (he will regenerate a 4th time if you do not finish him off with a Mystic Arte). This means you’ll be dealing with a boss that actually has 43,836 HP and he’s no pushover, so don’t get too cocky.

The small boss has a few main attacks that you’ll want to avoid: the first is his Foot Kick, where he’ll jump into the air and enlarge to smash you, Hundred Phoenix Fist, where he punches multiple times in front of him, and Bird Transformation, where he charges forward.

Keep on your toes to avoid Phoenix’s quick attack and his deadly Mystic Arte.

Keep on your feet to sidestep or backstep from the bosses attacks and armatize with each seraph, using their artes to weaken Phoenix in a Power Hits combo before unleashing a Mystic Arte to finish off the boss’ HP pool and then repeat the process two more times.

Armatize with the seraphs to start a Power Hits combo and then unleash Mystic Artes to quickly deplete Phoenix’s HP and eventually defeat him.

After the scene you’ll obtain the Mini-Normin fashion item and when you head for the exit you’ll automatically trigger the skits A Message from Phoenix and Phoenix Phorever .

Tales of Zestiria takes place on the continent of Glenwood, which is governed over by two warring counties. Through the hatred of man an impurity known as “malevolence” is generated and all living things on the continent are turned into beasts known as Hellions.
