Tales of Zestiria is the fifteenth game in the Japanese role-playing franchise from the Japanese developer Bandai Namco and the first to released on the PlayStation 4.

Development began in 2011 as a 20th anniversary title for the series, the game uses a revamped version of the Linear Motion Battle System, which the Tales games are known for, and focuses on incorporating classic elements with new gameplay ideas.

Tales of Zestiria takes place on the continent of Glenwood, which is governed over by two warring counties.

Through the hatred of man an impurity known as “malevolence” is generated and all living things on the continent are turned into beasts known as Hellions. Humans live unaware of the corruption that circulates their world and of a hidden race known as the Seraphim, who live among the humans and grant blessings to those who still believe in them.

The story begins with a young explorer named Sorey, who was adopted as an infant and raised among the Seraphim. One day, while exploring the ruins near his village, Sorey and his seraphim friend, Mikleo, find am unconcious human girl named Alisha and bring her back to their village. Little do they know that this girl will draw the young men away from their peaceful village into a world on the verge of breaking into pieces from chaos.
