Read through another couple of tutorials and play will resume. Pass through the metal tube until you reach a group of Watchdrones harassing a lone Pulsework Soldier. It’s easier to gain preemptive strikes on groups that are distracted trying to fight each other so take advantage of this here. Activate the device after you have removed the enemies and Sazh will confirm he’s never seen anything like it before.

Run ahead to the next two-way battle with Thexterons and a Pulsework Soldier. Afterwards, continue forwards to a group guarding another tunnel and a Treasure Sphere. This battle is a little trickier considering there are three Watchdrones to fight as well as the Thexteron. Be prepared to switch to a healing paradigm often. Open the Sphere for a Black Belt (increases physical resistance) which can be useful on someone with low HP to protect them from the many physical-based creatures.

Black Belt (left) and Ninurta (right).

Just through the tunnel is another device to activate which will open the way forwards and bring some more enemies along with it. Two Pulsework Soldiers and three Thexterons do battle with each other just ahead so sneak in for a preemptive strike. Remove the Thexterons first because they can do a lot of damage in quick succession and can buff themselves for further damage. If you Stagger all enemies from the start then you will put the Soldiers out of commission while you finish off the Thexterons. You will see Hope in the distance so run over to him for a scene.

Hope will join the party allowing you to create different Paradigms again. An effective one is Smart Bomb (RAV, SAB, RAV) which allows you to debuff and then Stagger enemies considerably faster than you’ve been able to do so far. The Saboteur role is a necessity against a lot of high-level bosses and enemies but it can also allow for a faster battle.

Hop up the scrap metal structure to the top but beware the lone Pulsework Soldier that lies in wait. It guards a Ninurta (a weapon for Hope) which isn’t as good as the Airwing Hope already has. As you try to leave through the door, a Pulsework Soldier rushes out to greet you.

Six people, from very different backgrounds, get thrown together in a series of tumultuous events. A Pulse fal’Cie (a demi-god) has been found in the seaside town of Bodhum, a place where the fates of everyone converge and the discovery sets in motion a chain of events that will change the world forever. An innocent fireworks display in the town soon turns nasty when government soldiers storm the peaceful celebration and commit everyone to the Purge (sending individuals “contaminated” by the Pulse fal’Cie into exile). This is where your story and legend begins. Can you fight fate?
