Need help to figure out where to go for the Dead Island 2 Fool’s Gold quest? Yeah, these clues can be tricky… When you return to the lifeguard building on Santa Monica’s beach, you will likely find a Crusher named Dante, who you will need to one-on-one after beaching from Butcho. Once you do that, you will notice he drops a journal that kick-stars the Fools Gold Quest. Now, the quest will take you to various locations associated with Dante. Heres where to find all the Fool’s Gold Clues, Burner Phone locations, and the spot for the buried treasure.

(1 of 3) The first clue is in Randy’s Locker, on the east side of the HQ.

The three places you need to go are as follows, and in this order too.

1. Lifeguard Lockers - Inside the same building you find Dante. This gives clues to two other locations you can only find once you pick up this note.
2. Northern dumpster spot - Look on the map for a place called Luigi’s Pizzeria, which should be in the very north tip of the map. You will find a small fenced-off dumpster area with the phone on the floor near the dumpsters and the bins.
3. Ferris Wheel - Now you need to return back over to the pier. Head through the pier, and go towards the Ferris Wheel, which you will find near the bench looking out towards the ocean.
4. Buried Safe Location - Now you have all the pieces, you can head towards the buried safe, which is bruised between the lifeguard HQ wall and the GDC blood-building sand block walls.

Once you’ve got all the clues, you need to return to the Lifeguard HQ. We recommend going inside and repairing your weapons, as you have another ‘Kill Them All’ mission ahead of you. Once you’re happy, go to the east side of the HQ building, which has the very thing sand corridor between the HQ wall and the GDG military base wall you will find the location, and trigger more zombie spawns.

This quest stage simply has a few Runners, Shamblers, and Walker varieties come your way. You can easily deal with these by throwing a Meat Bait curveball, and another curveball of your choice. We chose the Caustic-X Bomb to burn them in acid, which worked nicely.

Also, there is one Butcher that spawns in a later wave, so, we recommend using some form of frenzy weapon, getting its guaranteed critical strike up, and then dodging behind the Butcher, and swinging widely at its head to nuke its defense bar and knock it to the ground. If you can mod a frenzy weapon with the guaranteed crit explosion mod, then that’s even better. Alternatively, save your Fury Mode and absolutely delete it in whatever way possible.

Once all the zombies are dealt with, you can open the safe and receive a legendary dagger called Blood Rage, a very powerful dagger you can use in your arsenal. With that acquired, you will complete Dead Island 2’s Fools Gold Lost and Found Quest. Congratulations!
