How to Defeat Screamers Fast¶

You’ll first unlock Screamers after defeating Nikki Gutte during the Justifiable Zombicide quest. Afterwards, you’ll find Screamers roaming the street, and they’ll also occasionally join in on other boss fights.

Screamers aren’t big and bulky like some of the other variants (Crushers, Slobbers, Mutators etc) but they possess the ability to scream really loud. If you’re caught in blast of the scream, you’ll get knocked back away from the Screamer. If you try to walk through the scream, it’ll feel like you’re walking against a strong wind, making it really hard for you to get to her by walking directly towards her.

Nikki Gutte is the first Screamer variant you’ll encounter!

Instead, to get into melee range of a screaming Screamer, you’ll want to walk out of the scream’s blast and head from side on. Then you can bonk them on the head with your strongest melee weapon to interrupt their scream! If you have a gun (which you’ll unlock after the Nikki Gutte boss fight), then you can deal with Screamers quite easily at range, enabling you to stay out of their immediate vicinity to avoid the scream.

Naturally, the scream also attracts a large number of zombies and each time the Screamer unleashes a new scream more zombies will appear. You can’t exactly ignore these zombies but you also don’t wanna entirely neglect the Screamer as she’ll just attract more zombies. Try to use AoE damage like curveball bombs to deal with the zombies and the Screamer at the same time! Using status effects like burning and electrocuting can also help with dealing damage to the Screamer and surrounding zombies!
