Missing: Jamal - Lost & Found Guide - Dead Island 2

By
Scott Peers

The "Missing: Jamal" iconMissing: Jamal Lost & Found quest can be acquired at the Serling Hotel, which you’ll first encounter during "The Final Gauntlet" iconThe Final Gauntlet main story quest in Dead Island 2. Check the information board outside Dr. Reed’s office to interact with the note and begin the quest.

“Jamal has been reported missing! His best friend Ethan thinks he might still be at the Halperin Hotel, where he works as a security guard.”

Where to find Jamal at the Halperin Hotel - Dead Island 2

The first thing you need to do before you can start searching for Jamal is make your way back to the Halperin Hotel. You can do this via the fast travel map near the information board where you picked up the quest. This will bring you to a small room inside the hotel, from which you can take the stairs down and follow the path outside. Keep going and then turn right from the fence, where you’ll find a security hut that you need to search.

How to Destroy the Green and Blue Maglocks

There will be a lot of zombies in the area, so you should deal with them first, especially since you’ll be alerting more after breaking the window glass to the security hut soon. Once you’ve cleared the area of zombies, go to the hut and look at the electromagnetic lock (aka maglock) above the door. You’ll see two lock icons here, one green and one blue. You need to follow the wires attached to them to find the electrical unit that you can destroy to disable the associated lock.

The wire for the green lock takes you around the building to the right, where you’ll see the electrical unit on the wall here. Smash it open to destroy it using any weapon. The wire for the blue lock leads inside the security hut, so you’ll need to break the window glass (which will attract more zombies), then hit the electrical unit by throwing a melee weapon or shooting it inside. After destroying both maglocks, you can get inside to loot the documents, which will provide you with a clue to Jamal’s whereabouts.

(1 of 4) You’ll see the wires from the maglock on the security hut.

Find the Second Security Hut and Jamal’s Red Truck

Once you’re done with the first security hut, head east and turn right to slide under the gap in the fence. Keep going southeast on the other side until you come across the second security hut, at which you need to do the same thing as you did above: kill the zombies outside and then destroy the electrical units associated with the green and blue maglocks for the door. The maglocks for this hut are located in the exact same place as they were on the first. Loot the “Our Fellow Security Guard” item on the floor inside, then head north to the road outside. Here you’ll see a large crater where Jamal’s red truck can be found.

Now that you’ve found the truck, kill the zombies in the area and loot the keys to Jamal’s Stash, which is a large blue box in the back of the truck. The quest will complete after this and you’ll earn 1,500 XP.
