No Rest For The Wicked‘s inspiration from Souls-games is shining through, and its key and locked room feature is telling of it. One of the first optional keys you can come across is the Storage Room Key, an optional key that leads to some pretty juicy recipes and tools. Here’s everything you need to know to find the Storage Room Key in No Rest for the Wicked and what you get from it.

Storage Room Key Location¶
To get the Storage Room Key, you need to enter the stone fort on the beach you spawn on after the tutorial. Go up the main stairs into the first, then climb the stone stairs to reach the wall area. You should find a wooden platform dangling partway down the wall, with a corpse with a glowing blue bit of loot to pick up. Drop down the ledge, landing on the small wooden platform, and then drop down again to reach the corpse.
From here, you can drop into the water below if you want to and take the shortcut back to the beach. Enter the castle again, and take the right turning. You will need to fight a few more enemies along the path. Keep going right when you can, and you should find a few red hat enemies throwing fire flasks at you. Kill them and dodge their flask throws and rapid dagger attacks. You should now arrive near the portcullis. Just to the north, you should find a tower, and directly below it is a door leading to the Storage Room. Go up the door and interact with it and it will use the key.
Inside you get the following rewards (at least we did anyway):
- Chest
- 5 copper coins
- Crab Chowder Recipe
- Chipped Quartz
- Blade Oil
- Small Vial of Stamina
- There is also a blue lootable on the floor containing the early game Copper Shovel location.

You should now be able to do something about all those crab loot you’ve been getting on the beach. Moreso, you can finally dig those holes you’ve found along the beach and in the castle too!
