Fire Emblem Engage isn’t all about getting your battle on and taking your opponents down through strategic decisions, there are other aspects to the game, albeit even in this stripped back Fire Emblem iteration.
Some character relationship elements, for example, have stayed put, and one of these are Wake-Up Events which are something a little different for you to experience. This guide will take you through what these Wake-Up Events are all about including how to view them for yourself.
What are Wake-Up Events In Fire Emblem Engage?¶
To put it simply, Wake-Up Events are something that deepen your understanding of each character that you have unlocked in the game. This is because essentially, these are small cutscenes with each of your units, adding a little backstory between Alear and each of the units.
Many are a little confused as to why these are actually in the game since they technically serve no purpose but it could be just a little fan service from the developers, allowing for more character depth. Moreover, some are even speculating that these Wake-Up Events are in direct relation to ensuring that you, the Divine Dragon doesn’t end up sleeping for another 1000 years, important for the Kingdom to stay in the right hands.
The latter does make sense, especially lore-wise, and let’s face it, if you’re invested in the story of Engage, any and all dialogue you can get from your supports is always welcomed.
How to view Wake-Up Events in Fire Emblem Engage¶
If you are looking to get acquainted with all your supports, you’ll be doing this from the comfort of your own bed, in-game that is. To access Fire Emblem Engage Wake-Up Events, you will first have to go to your room in the Somniel. Once there, head over to your bed and press A to Examine.
Once the menu pops up, head into the Reminisce section and then you should see the option for Wake-Up Events. After entering this section, you’ll now be presented with all the Wake Up Events options you have unlocked. These are directly related to which support units you have recruited, and how far you have progressed in the game. Additionally, the more Paralogues you complete, the more Wake-Up Events you’ll have to look at.
There are exclusive Wake-Up Events if you have ‘romanced’ a support with the Pact Ring, but these do not change if you’re the male or female version of Alear.
