There are a lot of different characters found in Fire Emblem Engage, and some of them are on four legs. Sommie was a character revealed before the game was released and is essentially the mascot for the game. Beyond that, though, you are probably wondering if Sommie has any use in the game, whether it be part of a side quest or being able to somehow help out in battle. What or Who is Sommie?¶
Sommie is an animal that you keep within Fire Emblem Engage. They aren’t used in battle, and for the most part, you only seem to interact with them inside of the Somniel. Sommie does seem to help out in the Sominiel section of the game as he gives out bond fragments in exchange for interacting with him.
It’s important to note that the game lore states that Sommie is extremely old. There is also some texts from developers stating that if you take care of Sommie, something good may happen.
What Can You Do With Sommie?¶
You can pet and feed Sommie inside of the Sominiel in exchange for bond fragments. He appears to have a friendship meter, and when feeding him, you can choose from a large list of foods. There are also costume options for Sommie, allowing you to dress him up in some cute accessories.
Once you feed him a couple of times, Sommie will begin to follow you around Somniel. In addition, once he follows you he will appear running with the other characters on the load screen. He will also give you assistance during weight training and fishing making these mini-games a bit easier.
