Tips¶
Apprentices have a few more Challenges (well just three more), most of which can be completed on Mt. Snowpeak , to the north-east of the East Grassy Plains.
Pine Logs should be no trouble to get, but Elder Pine Logs may take a while. Like before, try to finish off a tree with overkill damage and pray there are some Elder Logs in the pile of items.
New to the table are two Challenges that require you to recover a bounty from a big tree.
First, there’s the Great Pine Tree on Mt. Snowpeak, which is just a bigger Pine Tree. The only difficulty here is finding the tree, as its location can vary; sometimes it’s near the base of the mountain, while other times it might be near the summit entrance.
The Sacred Earth Tree , meanwhile, is always in the same place: in the south-west corner of the West Grassy Plains. From its name and appearance, you can probably tell it’s a boss tree, so it has a lot more HP and receives less damage.
To further add to the challenge, all boss trees gradually recover HP. That’s not all; after hitting the tree a couple of times, you may notice the tree shimmer and hear a jingle. This is a sign the tree has altered its sweet spot, meaning you must find it again.
Therefore it’s paramount your axe damage is up to scratch and you’re able to locate the sweet spot to keep up the damage. If you find your damage isn’t high enough, try searching for a new axe in Castele or Port Puerto’s General Goods.
