Tips¶
As an Apprentice, you need to study the current fashion trends at Port Puerto. For that reason, we suggest packing your bags and moving into Madam Purl’s House (not literally) in the Port Puerto Palace Way.
With all the sets you’re asked to make, you’re going to be a busy Tailor… and shopper.
Fortunately, most of the resources you need are stocked by the cloth merchant in the Port Puerto Marina; if not there, then the other nearby merchants (or not-so-nearby if you’re the Shady Shop).
If you want to get your hands dirty, Silk Thread can be nabbed from the Feely Catterpillos in Mt. Snowpeak’s Waterfall Cave, while Sheep Fleece is dropped by the Woolies and Black Woolies in the East and West Grassy Plains.
You are going to be busy, so we recommend buying them instead and foraging for the items you can’t easily buy. Bluebells aren’t easy to buy, but are easy to obtain; look for the blue flowers growing around Port Puerto and Tortuga Archipelago.
Whitebells are rather scarce early on; they grow around Mt. Snowpeak Summit or you can buy them–and the other “bell” flowers–from the fairy in the West Grassy Plains, east of Florina’s House (after redeeming the “Mysterious Fairy” Bliss Bonus).
Finally, for Fine Feathers and Seashell Buttons speak to the parrot in Madam Purl’s House. This little guy is easy to miss and stocks an impressive range of items, moreso once you become a Master.
Right now, we don’t need to give you advice for the actual crafting, but if your crafting is slowing down–a sure sign is when you struggle to get any “Nice!” or “Great!“s–then try buying a better needle, like the Gold Needle sold by the parrot.
