Tips¶
The challenges on your way to godhood could be much worse; at the least, you’re dealing with the same types of challenges, just with fish that are slightly harder to reel in.
At this stage, the most important thing is to check if your Fishing stat is falling behind. It sounds obvious, but if you’re struggling to catch even the regular fish, you’re not going to stand a chance against the later boss fish.
The common reason for a low Fishing stat is not taking advantage of the increased stat limit. If your Focus isn’t at or near 100, you may want to visit the Tome of Shadows or use the Demonic Mirror to reset your stats. While you’re there, increase your Intelligence and Dexterity to similar levels.
Otherwise, it could be your Fishing Rod that’s failing you. If you’re a Carpenter, add a Soul Stone(+) for Tool Power+ or Subterranean Scales (from the Bluescale Lordfish) for Sea Fish Damage+ while crafting to make your rod more powerful.
As for the fish themselves, you can find the Rainbow Sunfish in the small lake to the north of Penguin Beach, inbetween the Heaven Bird’s arena and the Fluffkin Grotto. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see a rainbow at the base of the waterfall.
The Demonic Tuna , meanwhile, is located in the whirlpool to the far west of Penguin Beach, near Furkley the Fluffkin. This Lordfish is easier than the Godfish, so try your hand at it first to see how you fare.
Finally, the Godfish will be found in the small lake towards the east side of the Central Grasslands, between the entrance to the Rocky Hill Shrine and the Great Gigaga Tree.
If you’re smart and took on the Carpenter Life on the side, you can add an Other-Worldly Fin (from the freshly-caught Demonic Tuna) while crafting a new Fishing Rod to add the useful All Fish Damage+ property to it.
