Tips¶
As a God Blacksmith, you can enjoy one of the more useful Special Requests. When you have a moment, speak to Vulcan and you can accept a quest to craft a Sword of Heroes , using ingredients found in Haniwa Cave, to the west of the East Grassy Plains.
Before setting forth on an adventure, switch to a combat Life if possible and drag along two strong allies (including one who can cure status), as you will need to fight your way through a number of powerful bandits to get all the materials you need.
Your toughest challenge will be recovering the Gold Shard from the Legendary Bandit deep within. This giant bandit is accompanied by annoyingly strong Veteran Bandits, who you should try to subtly assassinate before taking on the big guy.
For his attacks, the Legendary Bandit may pound with his club forward, creating shockwaves forward. He may also spin with his club, inflicting damage to anyone a mid-distance around him. To annoy, the bandit occasionally roars, which causes Stun.
If you weren’t taking heavy damage already, wait till the bandit leaps into the air, causing a rock slide ahead. Although if you survive this attack, the bandit will get his club stuck in the ground, giving you some time to get some easy hits in.
This battle is hard because of two reasons. One, the bandit doesn’t really telegraph his attacks or give you enough time to respond. So the best you can do is watch your HP and heal appropriately. Secondly, the arena is fairly small, making it hard to evade attacks.
After a heated battle, which hopefully ends in your victory, the Legendary Bandit will drop the Gold Shard. To get the Bismuth Ingot , you need to continue ahead, up the “face” of the mountain and grab it from the shiny spot near the Bandit Master.
Annoyingly, as far as we can tell, you can only retrieve one Bismuth Ingot per visit and you need two. You’ve got no choice but to leave Haniwa Cave, then enter the West Grassy Plains (the nearest zone) before coming back to make it respawn… and the bandits too.
For the King Gel , if you don’t have one already, just take a quick trip to Tortuga Archipelago’s Deepsea Cave, then take it from the Jellking by force.
Having gathered all three materials, it’s time to craft the one of the (if not, the ) best greatswords in the game. In fact, if possible, you should craft an extra copy for yourself, although you can do that at any time.
Anyway, at this stage, the only thing that’s important is to trigger your God Skill as soon as possible; this means stacking as many Crafting S. Skill rate bonuses as possible.
You can achieve this with a simple Clockwork Hammer crafted with an Ancient Stone+ (dropped by Giant Mimics in the Trial of Time) and a God Material (eg. Love Orb) to get Crafting S. Skill rate +35% on top of the natural +25%.
Then to further boost the rate, see if you can win Leilah’s Floral Circlet (rate +25%) from the Elderwood Village Goddess Statue and get yourself a Sun Ring (rate x2) from the Exchange Clerk mooching in Pam’s House.
