Tips¶
There’s quite a lot of work to do as a Fledgling, so try not to get overwhelmed.
To begin with, it’s always a good idea to grab a notepad or piece of paper and check your recipes for missing ingredients. You can view your recipes outside of crafting by opening the Menu, going to Licenses then press the Y button when the Alchemist license is selected.
Since you’re a beginner, practically all of the ingredients can be found or bought around Castele. Because you have to make a lot of things, we recommend buying the ingredients to save time; you can make back money by selling your creations, remember.
For any budding Alchemist, the Shady Shops are your best friends–the one in Castele is located in the Artisans’ District, east of Castele Square, to the east of the other merchants. Here, you can buy most of your ingredients–if not, from the stalls nearby.
Speaking of which, Minty Ores , Blue Stones and Yellow Stones are sold by the ore merchant nearby. Meanwhile, Leather String can be procured from the wood and leather merchant.
The crafting itself is fairly basic, similar to what you did as a Novice. Even as you advance up the ranks, you will be doing pretty much the same thing, but with more steps and often a reduced crafting speed.
To improve your crafting speed, you need to boost your Alchemy stat, by buying or crafting better flasks and adding stat points into Intelligence, then Dexterity and Focus.
Having a good crafting speed also helps with making high-quality items. To further boost your chances, you also need a high skill level in your relevant area–so Compound Alchemy for potions–and Luck. Note that sometimes you make an extra item instead of a high-quality one.
