Shadow of the Erdtree is the first major DLC for Elden Ring and with that comes many items and secrets. On this page, we’ll take you through the necessary steps to finding the Carian Thrusting Shield.

The Carian Thrusting Shield is a new shield added in with the Shadow of the Erdtree.

Finding the Carian Thrusting Shield¶

The Carian Thrusting Shield can be found within the Shadow Keep and the easiest way to reach the item is to start at the Church District Entrance Site of Grace. If you haven’t already unlocked this, then you can do so by fast traveling to the Moorth Ruins Site of Grace and then head west from the Site of Grace and enter the small archway and jump down to the bottom via the horse. Work your way through the tunnel and climb up the ladder to reach Bonny Village.

Follow the pebble path around to the north to reach the Church District Entrance. Here you’ll want to drop on to the branch below on the right and walk across the rooftops and then use the arch to reach the rooftop above (watch out for the enemy below). Drop down into two holes and follow the path along to the northwest, then enter the second doorway on your left. Take the elevator up to the Specimen Storehouse and then follow the path around to the west of the Store, Back Section Site of Grace to find the Carian Thrusting Shield.

Carian Thrusting Shield Uses¶

The first thing you’ll notice when it comes to the Shadow of the Erdtree is that its a lot tougher compared to the base game, so you’ll want to make sure you’ve collected a lot of the Scadutree Fragments and have a good equipment setup. We recommend equipping the Carian Thrusting Shield as this will give you the option to deflect a lot of incoming damage.
