Elden Ring had a huge cast of colorful characters that you could aid throughout your time in the Lands Between, and the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is no different. Hornsent Grandam is one such character you can encounter, but finding her for the first time can prove tricky, keep reading to learn more about her and how to complete her quest.

Hornsent Grandam can be found in the Storeroom of Belurat, Tower Settlement in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree.

First Meeting - Belurat, Tower Settlement¶

You won’t be able to encounter Hornsent Grandam until you reach Shadow of the Erdtree’s first Legacy Dungeon, Belurat, Tower Settlement. To reach it, head north along the western wall in Gravesite Plain and you’ll eventually reach the Three-Path Cross Site of Grace, where you’ll also run into another important character, Leda. If you take a look at the map, you’ll see this Site of Grace points to the northwest, so follow it and you’ll eventually reach Belurat, Tower Settlement.

Head through this dungeon until you reach the Small Private Altar Site of Grace. Head out the door and you’ll find two directions you can go, to the left or right. Hornsent Grandam can be found by going to the left, but you’ll first need to track down the Storeroom Key to open the locked door.

You’ll find this by heading to the right from the Site of Grace, and then through a small alleyway to the right of the Horned Warrior and into a room to the left after your round the corner. Climb the ladder inside here (after dealing with the Shades) and you’ll find a corpse with the Storeroom Key.

With this in hand, go back to the Site of Grace, take the left path and open the door, inside you’ll find Hornsent Grandam who doesn’t have much to say.

Second Meeting - Belurat, Tower Settlement After Divine Beast Dancing Lion¶

You won’t be able to do anything with Hornsent Grandam at this moment in time, but if you look to your left, the headpiece to the left of her should give you a clue. You’ll need to proceed through the rest of this Legacy Dungeon and defeat the first major boss at the end of it, the Divine Beast Dancing Lion. This is an especially difficult encounter early in the DLC so make sure you’ve raised your stats with some Scudatree Blessings first.

Upon defeating the beast, you’ll obtain not only its Remembrance, but also the Divine Beast Head, the item you’ve been looking for. Return to the Storeroom once again and speak to Hornsent Grandam with the head equipped to find she’s suddenly a lot more talkative. Exhaust her dialogue and not only will you obtain a new Incantation, Watchful Spirit, but she’ll also mention that the Hornsents are looking for vengeance against Messmer, someone you’re sure to run into sooner or later.

Additionally, if you refresh the area and return, she’ll hand you a Scorpion Stew, a consumable that will increase damage negation and gradually restore your HP, very handy! What’s more, although she’ll only give you one, every time you use it, you can return for another one. This is handy if you wish to give one to Hornsent in exchange for some Furnace Visage.

Final Meeting and Rewards - Belurat, Tower Settlement After Messmer the Impaler¶

Once you’ve proceeded further into the Realm of Shadow and taken down one of the DLC’s primary antagonists, Messmer the Impaler, make one final return to the Storeroom in Belurat and speak to her. As thanks for helping the Hornsents get revenge, she’ll hand over a Gourmet Scorpion Stew, a better version of the previous consumable that offers even greater HP regeneration.

This is where Hornsent Grandam’s quest effectively ends, you can return a few more times for Gourmet Scorpion Stew, but eventually, she will “rest” now that her task is fulfilled.
