As you explore the world you’ll doubtlessly find seeds of various types, stat-boosting consumables that can be used to boost your characters. While not necessary to complete the game, shifting the odds a bit more in your favor is never a bad thing, and this page will provide the locations of every seed we found as long as what monsters can also drop seeds in Dragon Quest 2: HD-2D Remake!

Seeds can be found… just about everywhere you look, although you’ll most commonly find them in pots, barrels and sparkly spots, they can also be found as hidden items or in chests. Just be sure to use Nose for Treasure and Snoop to locate the harder-to-find seeds!

Defeating some monsters will cause them to drop seeds,
just be sure to wear a Pirate King’s Pendant and have something to watch or listen to, as drop rates are abysmal.
Seed Drops¶
If you find you need more seeds than what can simply be found lying around, you can also farm monsters for them. Starting fairly early in the game monsters will start dropping seeds, and while these drops are somewhat rare, over the course of hundreds of battles you’re bound to get a few. Targeting specific monsters will yield better results (although this is still a painfully tedious and frankly unnecessary process), especially if you equip a Pirate King’s Pendant or two, and below we’ll list all the monsters that can drop seeds in Dragon Quest 2: HD-2D Remake:

Most of these should be pretty self-explanatory - go to or near the location mentioned above and you’ll find the critter you’re looking for eventually. Just sitting around and use Caradoc’s “Whistle” ability to summon enemies will speed this up, but keep in mind that not all monsters are as common as others, and if you want to speed up seed farming, you probably want to try to find enemies that 1) drop seeds, 2) spawn in groups and 3) are easy to kill. Anything you can defeat with normal attack with the tactics “Don’t Use MP” active will help make this process more mindless, and given the drop rates in this game, you want fights to be as mindless and fast as possible.
There are some spawns that are fairly ambiguous, however. “Open Ocean” means relatively little, and there are several “ocean” locations that have discrete enemy spawns - Merman and King Squid enemies can spawn in the deep ocean (darker) waters east of Beran, all the way east to Zahan. Goocumbers and Neanderdrohls can be found under the surface of the ocean in the same locations (from Beran to Zahan). Sea Scorpions can be found in the waters west of Dirkandor. Tentacular enemies can be found in deed sea regions (dive deeper at certain locations after you upgrade 
Lorelei’s Harp). Finally, the Geothaum and Gold Digger enemies can be found on some islands west of Moonahan - “Nameless Islands” just being a generic name for various islands scattered across the map.
