There are a number of trophies and achievements to unlock in Dragon Quest II HD-2D Remake, some of which require you to search thoroughly for specific items. There are specific pieces of equipment in the game that can alter the way your characters look. Some of these are related to the Like Cats and Dogs trophy/achievement, asking you to dress up all four party members as animals. Depending on some luck, it is possible to unlock this as soon as you have access to Rimuldar, although it’s most likely going to be something you get over the course of the game. The only two items that count towards this are the Cat Suit and the Dog Suit, so make sure you don’t sell these whenever you come across them.

Dress up all four characters in the animal costumes to unlock this trophy/achievement.

All Cat Suit Locations

Cat Suits are one of the two costumes that will count towards this trophy/achievement, and it’s the only one you can get an infinite amount of during the game. That’s because this actually drops from two enemies, plus it’s in one of the prize pools for a Tombola Stall.

  • Can win one from the Tombola Stall in Rimuldar. It’s the 1st Class prize, so it’s not going to be that common. However, if you’re careful (save scumming) with your tickets, you could win four Cat Suits here and unlock the trophy right then and there.

  • They can drop from both "Catula" iconCatulas and "Vampire Cat" iconVampire Cats. The former is found in Craggy Cave, while the latter is in either the Dragon Horn dungeons. The only problem with this is that the drop rates aren’t terribly high. In fact, the Cat Suit is a 1% drop from either of the above enemies, so it’d be a lot of grinding to get multiple.

  • The only static Cat Suit that’s a treasure is found in Galenholm, inside the shipyard building. You need the Magic Key to get through the one door here, after which, you can go to the cupboard to find the costume. (Map Marker)

You can get as many Cat Suits as you want from the Tombola in Rimuldar.

All of the Dog Suits are found as one-time treasures in mid-to-late game locations.

All Dog Suit Locations

Unlike the Cat Suit, which can be gotten infinitely if you wanted, all of the Dog Suits that can be found are one-time treasures. There seem to be no enemies that drop it, and none of the Tombola Stalls have it as a prize.

  • The first spot where you can get a Dog Suit is in the Faerie Palace, but it requires the Magic Key first. In the set of three chests in the northwestern part of the first floor, open the one on the right side to find the Dog Suit. (Map Marker)

  • In the Rendarak area of the overworld, you will be on your way to the final main story dungeon, the Hall of Hargon. Southwest of it on the world map, there is a Secret Spot that you can enter. Do so and look for the chest near the center, which yields the Dog Suit. (Map Marker)

  • The final Dog Suit is found in the postgame, in the Cave of Confusion dungeon. This place is a myriad of rooms from the first three games of the series. For the item in question, you’ll find it in the ninth room, the Weeping Isle. Near the south-central exit, the one needed to continue through the dungeon, look on the ground by the base of the rock there for the Dog Suit. (Map Marker)

Once you have four of the suits from above, go into your inventory for each character and equip them (the armor slot). When all four characters have them on, you will unlock the trophy/achievement!
