Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance

Sage

By
Jarrod Garripoli
Portrait Description
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance Screenshot Children of wisdom, raised by a 100,000,000 year old Demon Tree. They can hear voices of plants, and have deep connections with Fairies. The Demon Tree provides them with energy, so they can easily use magic. The area is protected by the guardian, Veil.

To unlock the Sage, you will need a Rank 4 Magic Knight and a Rank 2 Professor. Ah, the Sage is definitely one of the best classes in the game, as they have two of the best unique skills, granting them both one of the best attacking spells and an extremely useful utility spell. Land Decimator, the attack spell, will hit all units on the map, friend and foe alike. The only problem with this is that it maxes at 50% accuracy and the power rating is relatively low. Of course, with the Sage’s unique Evility, the damage will be increased with the more enemies you target. As for weapons, it’s probably best to stick with staves, although they can also be good with bows and even spears, at max rank.

Evilities

The Sage’s unique Evility, Mass Blaster, increases the damage dealt by the number of targets x10%. Basically, the more targets they can hit with a single attack, the more damage they will do, which makes Land Decimator so good for clearing some maps, especially in the Item World. Wisdom Incarnate increases SP, INT and RES aptitudes by 20%, which is a lot, but you can manually increase them by visiting the Chara World, so it’s kind of pointless to waste precious slots. Magic Conversion increases your INT by 1% for every 2% of your remaining SP. So, this can be a big boost at the start of the map, but you gradually lose this buff as you use spells/skills.

Star Break makes it so when you use star elemental attacks, the target’s star resistance becomes 0. This is a bit of a double-edged sword, as it turns both weakness and strength to 0 resistance. There’s not a whole lot of situations where you’ll run into enemies with star resistance, but it could be useful in some portions of the game. Anti-Demon Decoy lets you evade magic attacks at the rate of 50%, which might be a good fit for tank-type build. Concentration increases the damage of single target magic attacks by 100%, which despite how expensive it is, is a good Evility. Although the Sage will likely be using Land Decimator often, you can throw this on her to help with cleaning up any enemies that survive it. In fact, any mage you have should be using this Evility.

Evility Slots Effect Req
Mass Blaster Unique Increases damage dealt by targets of the attack x10% Default
Wisdom Incarnate 4 SP, INT and RES aptitudes increased by 20% Rank 2 Sage
Magic Conversion 4 Every 2% of remaining SP increases INT by 1% Rank 3 Sage
Star Break 3 When making star element attacks, target’s star resistance becomes 0 Rank 4 Sage
Anti-Demon Decoy 4 Evade magic attacks at the rate of 50% Rank 5 Sage
Concentration 6 Increases damage of single target magic attacks by 100% Rank 6 Sage
