Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance

Professor

By
Jarrod Garripoli
Portrait Description
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance Screenshot It’s a rare profession in which they study Netherscience. They base their study on the scientific technologies they learned from the Human World. The field of Netherscience is constantly expanding, thanks to their efforts, but there are still many areas which are left unproven.

You will need a Rank 2 Maid and a Rank 3 Gunner in order to unlock the Professor as a playable class. The Professor is a support class, with a focus on buffing your allies. One of the reasons for this is because of its unique Evility, which doubles the effect of buffing spells. The Professor also has two unique skills that do things that other spells cannot do, like turn a character giant or buff their most basic of stats (Move and Jump, as an example). You should probably stick with Staves for the Professor, as they learn a variety of buff spells, as well as up to Omega Star. They will also become good with guns, which they can do because of their good HIT/SPD aptitudes. Actually, aside from HP and DEF, they have a good round of aptitudes across the board.

Evilities

The Professor’s unique Evility, Medical Insertion, doubles the effect of support magic. This means that any time you cast something like Braveheart, for example, you should be doing it with a Professor or someone with this Evility. Research Desire increases the amount of EXP you earn whenever you use support magic, by 200%. Since it becomes rather easy to level up, due to specific maps, this isn’t as useful as one would think. Chemical Reaction makes it so whenever you use support magic, this Evility will increase another stat that wasn’t enhanced by 30%. This is completely random, so it could lose some effectiveness because of that.

Tension Booster can be a great Evility, as it increases the target’s Revenge Gauge by 10%, whenever support magic is being used. Considering the nice benefits you get from Revenge Mode, making it easier to achieve is always good. Effective Delivery will extend the number of turns that support magic will last to three more turns. This just makes support magic better, since you don’t have to worry about its effects falling off so soon. Demon Researcher increases the stats of Magichange weapons by 15%. Use this on a unit, if you happen to use Magichange a lot, which is a nice mechanic to get stronger stats and access to more skills.

Evility Slots Effect Req
Medical Insertion Unique Multiply effect of support magic by 2 Default
Research Desire 2 Increases EXP earned when using support magic by 200% Rank 2 Professor
Chemical Reaction 3 When using support magic, increases one stat that wasn’t enhanced by 30% Rank 3 Professor
Tension Booster 4 When using support magic, increase target’s Revenge Gauge by 10% Rank 4 Professor
Effective Delivery 4 Effects of support magic will last three more turns Rank 5 Professor
Demon Researcher 5 Increases stats of the Magichange weapons by 15% Rank 6 Professor
