He is from a Fantasy Netherworld full of magic, Magitopia. This is a land known for producing top level magicians, and children go to a magic academy to focus on their studies. Only those who have gone through the competitions can call themselves magicians.
The Magician (also sometimes known as the Skull) is a class that is unlocked from the beginning of the game, and is one of the basic magic-using classes. Being a user of magic, the Magician naturally has a high INT stat and since they will be slinging spells, they also possess high SP. The Magician also possesses a good RES aptitude, although their initial stat for it is a bit low. Of course, being prolific in the magical realm, that means the Magician is not as well-endowed in HP, ATK or DEF. This leaves them a little on the squishy side, but they shouldn’t be in the frontlines at all, so they shouldn’t be getting hit.
The Magician (and the Witch, since they are pretty much similar) get to choose their element upon creation, either from Fire, Ice, or Wind. This determines their resistances, as well as which spells they learn. Note that in regards to spells, they will learn up to the Tera level (the fifth tier). At the beginning portions of the game, the Magician can be a difficult class to balance, as his unique Evility, Magic Bundle, can make him burn through his SP much more quickly. This Evility increases the special skill power by 30%, but at the expense of using 50% more SP. However, once you get farther in the game, this becomes less of a problem, plus one of the Magician’s skills allows you to siphon SP from enemies.
The Magician’s unique Evility is called Magic Bundle, which increases his special skill power by 30%, but at the expense of using 50% more SP. Because the Magician will be slinging spells at enemies as his primary thing, you will want to complement that. Concentration will make his single-target spells more powerful (by 100%), while Attack Weakness increases the damage of elemental spells by 50%, as long as they exploit a target’s negative element. Also, since they will be using a lot of SP, you can also use Overflowing Magic to increase their damage by 30%, whenever their SP is 50% or less.
As far as other unique Evilities go, Elemental Force will make it so your elemental resistance value is reflected onto your elemental attacks. As an example, having a 99 Fire resistance will make their fire attacks more powerful. Twin Head will make it so they attack twice, as long as they don’t move on their turn. If you are using the area-of-effect versions of spells, then Mass Blaster will increase the damage by 10% per target in that area attack.
There are three major areas in the Disgaea universe, Celestia, which is home to the angels, the Human World, and the Netherworlds. The Netherworlds are split up into a bunch of different ones, each governed by an Overlord, who has their own set of rules. Those very same Netherworlds are now in danger of being destroyed or taken over by an evil army known as The Lost, who is being led Void Dark. However, a ray of hope appears in the form of Killia, who seems to have a deep grudge against Void Dark. Can he really go through the rumored 10 billion Lost soldiers and exact his revenge against Void?
