You’ll run into Dr. Garrow as you explore Atomfall and it won’t take long for you to question her motivations. A scientist obsessed with Oberon, she does have a way out of the quarantine zone for you. But its cost is something you’ll uncover as you progress in the story. Once you free her from prison, you’ll have to get Dr. Garrow’s Research Notes to obtain more information on this escape route.

Finding Dr. Garrow¶
Dr. Garrow can be found at Skethermoor Prison to the south of Skethermoor. This location can be found past a checkpoint to the northwest of Wyndham Village. You’ll also find the Signal Redirector here so it’s worth checking out the place when you’re in Captain Sims’ good books. Sims, the Protocol leader, can be found at the Village Hall in Wyndham Village. Helping him will let you enter the prison without Protocol soldiers peppering you with bullets.
Help Dr. Garrow escape and she flees so via an Interchange entrance inaccessible to you. Once you leave the prison, you can meet her near the Central Processor at the Interchange. Speak with her and she will promise to share more information once you get her notes from the Lower Level of the Robotics department in the Interchange.
Cross this area to enter Robotics.
Entering Robotics¶
Getting into Robotics involves powering up Data Store Bravo or Data Store Delta with Atomic Batteries. You’ll get these items at a steady clip as you progress in the game. If you don’t have any, consider quick appointments with the violent High Priestess in the castle at Casterfell Woods and the trader Molly in the Trader Camp at Slatten Dale. I snuck into Data Store Delta via the Interchange entrance at Slatten Dale. Once you power it up, you will be able to enter an open area patrolled by two B.A.R.D robots.
Sneak past the machine gun and flamethrower-toting bots and you’ll spot machine turrets on the walls guarding an entrance. These can be disabled by using the Signal Redirector tool on the signal box connected to them. Once you get past them, you’ll find yourself at Robotics.
Getting to Robotics’ Lower Level¶
As you enter Robotics, you’ll find another open space to explore. You’ll need to send power to two magnetic locks to open the entrance to the Lower Level of Robotics. To do so, first head to the Administration Office via the Canteen to the left as you enter Robotics. Sprint past the rats and head upstairs. This will take you to the Administration Office, where a vent near the floor will take you to another room with the Control Room Keycard. You’ll also find two Training Stimulants here, essential for unlocking skills like Gunsmith.
This keycard can be used at the Control Room nearby. Get in and press a button on a console here to trigger an audio log from Frank Stevens. Once the audio ends, a B.A.R.D robot will come to life and patrol the perimeter, so we suggest you start sprinting towards the Robot Assembly room before that. It can be found straight as you exit the Canteen.
On your left, you’ll find the entrance to Power Control Alpha. To power this area up, use the Signal Redirector on a signal box you can see through a window. Now, head inside and interact with the lever labeled Wing Power Control. You’ll hear an announcement indicating that the entrance’s power has been raised to 50%. The other side of the room has the entrance to Power Control Beta. Just like last time, use the Signal Redirector through a window to get into a room that lets you pull another Wing Power Control lever.
This time though, the reactivated electricity passes into puddles of water through an exposed wire near the entrance you were supposed to open. Hop on the crates to use the Signal Redirector on a signal box near the door. This will power up both magnetic locks and turn the terrain safe again. Release these locks by interacting with the console nearby and enter the Lower Level of Robotics.
Finding Dr. Garrow’s Research Notes¶
We’re finally at the Lower Level of Robotics. Slide down and you’ll enter Robot Maintenance. Loot the body of a scientist at the entrance and you’ll find the “Locked Inside Weapons Testing” note. It’ll point to Rosie, a scientist who took Dr. Garrow’s office key. She locked herself inside the Weapons Testing Room to the right, meaning this is where you should head next.
Open the shutter with your Signal Redirector and you’ll need to access three computer consoles in the lab to gain access to the Weapons Testing Room. Unfortunately, opening the shutter also brings two B.A.R.D. robots to life alongside some turrets on walls. While the Signal Redirector can take care of turret signal boxes, you’ll need to sneak past the robots if you don’t want to spend all your ammunition on the red explosive barrels scattered across the lab.
We decided to sprint to each computer console with green schematic screens and interact with them before the robots could gun us down. Doing so lets you find Rosie’s corpse with the Head Office Keycard. Head back into Robot Maintenance and you’ll find some stairs at the back that lead to the Head Office.
Use the Head Office Keycard to enter the office and grab Dr. Garrow’s Research notes from the desk. Return to Dr. Garrow at the Central Processor and she will part with some precious information before giving you another task. That wraps up the lengthy chore of getting Dr. Garrow’s Research notes in Atomfall.
