As you work towards Atomfall’s conclusion, one of its biggest decisions appears on a terminal at the Casterfell Dam Data Storage facility: GEN ERA or GEN MOVE? Dr. Garrow’s desire to erase the information stored here is concerning and Joyce’s reasons for procuring it are unclear. Read on to uncover the consequences of these choices and how you can get into Casterfell Woods’ Dam Data Storage in Atomfall.

(1 of 3) This is where you can find Casterfell Dam Data Storage.

Reaching Casterfell Dam Data Storage

Once you free Dr. Garrow from Skethermoor Prison and get her Research Notes from the Robotics’ Lower Level at the Interchange, she will have a new task for you. This involves getting to Casterfell Dam Data Storage at the northwest side of Casterfell Woods. Dr. Garrow will hand you a keycard and instruct you to enter the GEN ERA command at a terminal in the facility. You can also kill Dr. Garrow to get the keycard but this leaves you in the dark with respect to the true nature of Oberon and the Interchange.

Approach this location via the dam site patrolled by druids or from the east. Keep your distance and you can head right past them and descend into a massive hole with the Dam Data Storage facility entrance. Alternatively, if you head here by making a beeline from Wyndham Village, you’ll run into a gated area filled with Ferals. Use traps and strong weapons to finish them off. Once you’re done, you’ll find a cave filled with toxic gas that leads to the aforementioned hole with the facility’s entrance. An Antidote will let you get through without losing much health. Bunker L9 can be found to the right side of this cave entrance and it houses the Casterfell Radio Tower Key.

(1 of 4) Use the keycard to enter this room.

Powering up the Dam Data Storage terminal

Once you’re in, you’ll spot a powered-down terminal. This is where you need to enter the GEN ERA command at Dr. Garrow’s behest. Enter the room at the rear left labeled Electrical with the Dam Data Storage Keycard that Dr. Garrow gave you. You’ll find a yellow junction box here that you can hack into with your Signal Redirector. Doing so turns a turret operational in the central area. Deactivate it by interacting with the junction box near it, which activates a vent on the wall and sends in a swarm of rats. While you can use an Explosive Lure to stall them, the B.A.R.D. robot patrolling here will torch them with its flamethrower. Stop the rats by hacking into another junction box on the right side of the facility.

To access the Control Room that activates the main terminal, you need to get to a final junction box on the ceiling. Evade the B.A.R.D. robot and hop on the pile of crates to get it done. You can now proceed to the room that just gained power. Interact with the card reader here to power up the terminal near the entrance. As the machine comes to life, Joyce Tanner will establish a connection and speak to you. She’ll ask you to use the GEN MOVE command to transfer the bunker’s data onto a tape and bring it to her. Head to the terminal and pick between the GEN ERA and GEN MOVE commands.

(1 of 3) Picking GEN ERA erases the bunker data.

Picking GEN ERA for Dr. Garrow

Ignoring Joyce and erasing the bunker’s data by selecting GEN ERA will get you into Dr. Garrow’s good books. Meet Dr. Garrow at the Central Processor in the Interchange and she will be thrilled with the news. You’ll then be able to ask her about Oberon and its connection to the Interchange. While Joyce will understandably be upset, you can sweet-talk your way out by telling her you don’t have the data. She will still choose to work with you. Convincing her will let you keep your options open for Atomfall’s endings.

(1 of 3) GEN MOVE transfers the bunker data.

Using GEN MOVE for Joyce Tanner

Picking GEN MOVE will transfer the data to the Project Oberon Data Tape next to the terminal. Take it to Joyce, who currently stays at Data Store Charlie in the Interchange. You may have run into her at a secret Protocol bunker southwest of the Old Mine in Casterfell Woods before you accessed the Interchange.

Naturally, Dr. Garrow will be displeased by these events and threaten you as you enter the Interchange. Get to the Central Processor and Dr. Garrow will turn hostile, attacking you with a Shiv. You’ll have no choice but to kill her, severing access to her ending. Hand the tape over to Joyce to win her trust. If you haven’t activated three Radio Towers yet, she will ask you to do so. Once that’s done, you’ll inch closer to escaping the quarantine zone with Joyce Tanner. Picking between GEN ERA and GEN MOVE in Atomfall is a tough decision. Choose wisely.
