One of the first choices you make in Atomfall is deciding to pick up the telephone at a red booth during its prologue. While your first conversations with the voice are cryptic, they grow more relevant as you work through the game’s many leads and questlines. If you’re scratching your head over whether you should trust the voice on the telephone in Atomfall, here’s what you need to know.
Red telephone booths are scattered across Atomfall.
Trusting the voice is the way to go¶
The voice can be a helpful if unreliable ally in Atomfall. While the game’s endings branch out in multiple ways, the voice’s warnings are often right on the mark. They tend to be suspicious of Atomfall’s factions like the druids and Protocol, remnants of a military force stationed in London in the wake of a terrible nuclear accident. While you can be evasive and wary as you run into the occasional red booth with a ringing telephone, there’s no harm in playing nice and listening to what they have to say.
Over time, you’ll be able to ask the voice about your decisions and the foes you may encounter. Heeding the voice’s warning about a mysterious force will lead you to one of the game’s endings. Instead, you can side with one of the other factions to beat Atomfall too. Ignoring the telephone is an option but this can leave you blind to the voice’s assessment of your actions. Even if you don’t trust the voice in Atomfall, we recommend replying positively until a crucial point towards the end of the game.
