The road to the second and final island trial of Ula’ula Island starts here. You can reach here by heading south from Sushi High Roller towards the south-west corner of Malie City.

As soon as you enter, there’s a helpful trial guide to the east, by the entrance. Speak to her to instantly heal your party. The Pokemon Center isn’t far, but any time saved is a good thing. Moving on, head south-west from the trial guide towards the route signpost.

In the corner of the tall grass to the west is a Big Mushroom if you want it. Next, follow the dirt path east. When the path forks, you can head north to battle a pair of athletic trainers. Otherwise you can go along the bottom route to avoid a scrap.

Athletic Siblings Alyssa and Sho

Pokemon Level Type
"Herdier" IconHerdier 27 Normal
"Fletchinder" IconFletchinder 27 Fire/Flying

Both middle evolutions. "Herdier" IconHerdier has Intimidate, which lowers the Attack of both of your Pokemon. It’s still easy prey for Fighting-types though.

That said, "Fletchinder" IconFletchinder is around to make Fighting-types cry. However you can easily down the fiery bird with Rock-types or the more common Water and Electric-types.

Whichever path you follow, step into the tall grass between the two paths and search the middle for some Stardust . After that, head east between the foliage to find TM74 Gyro Ball lying at the end. Next, go around the foliage towards the eastern side of the top path.

Search the area to the left of the tall grass to find a hidden Star Piece . East from here, the path converges. Around here is a tiny trainer looking around for an opponent. He ain’t messing around!

Preschooler Hayden

Pokemon Level Type
"Stufful" IconStufful 26 Normal/Fighting

A Pokemon you can encounter in Route 8 and Akala Outskirts; also the subject of a fetch quest in Route 10. It’s weak to Fighting, Flying, Psychic and Fairy-types.

Further east, close to the exit, there’s a Black Belt doing push ups in front of a rock. If you want, you can go through the tall grass to the south to escape his gaze. Or you can run by the moment he’s lying down.

Black Belt Clayton

Pokemon Level Type
"Hariyama" IconHariyama 28 Fighting

Not very creative, these Black Belts… Take out this bulky Fighting-type with strong Flying, Psychic or Fairy-types. Just be careful of the predictable Knock Off if it survives.

Either way, at the end of the tall grass south from Clayton is a Big Mushroom . If it’s night, there’s also a "Zygarde" IconZygarde Cell (39) to be found by the side of the road a short distance north-east.

To Clayton’s east is a patch of tall grass and, in the corner where there’s no grass, a Quick Ball you can pick up. Finally, continue east along the path to reach the exit. You’ll find a trial guide in front of the captain’s barricade; approach and she’ll open the way after seeing your Electrium Z.
