Pokémon Encounters - Route 14

Name Type Location (Encounter Rate)
"Pelipper" IconPelipper Water/Flying Surfing (20%)
"Tentacool" IconTentacool Water/Poison Surfing (40%)
"Finneon" IconFinneon Water Surfing (40%)
"Magikarp" IconMagikarp Water Fishing (79%), Bubbling Spot (50%)
"Wishiwashi" IconWishiwashi Water Fishing (20%), Bubbling Spot (30%)
"Bruxish" IconBruxish Water/Psychic Fishing (1%), Bubbling Spot (20%)
"Gyarados" IconGyarados Water/Flying (SOS only) Possible ally Pokemon for "Magikarp" IconMagikarp

Immediately as you enter, search the area directly west for a Pearl . After that, approach the waters below and call "Lapras" IconLapras. Paddle south towards the platform at the far end. Head up the stairs and pick up TM30 Shadow Ball in the middle of the ruins. Was this once a Lighthouse?

Return to the base of the stairs and paddle east. Nearby is a swimmer paddling to and fro.

Swimmer Keoni

Pokemon Level Type
"Pyukumuku" IconPyukumuku 31 Water

This difficult-to-spell Pokemon has no attacking moves, but loves to use Counter to return double damage from physical moves. Hurt it with special moves instead, especially those of the Grass or Electric variety. Be wary of Innards Out, which returns equal damage from the finishing blow.

There’s nothing more to be found in the waters, so paddle north-east back to dry land. Along the west side of the shore, there’s another trainer vying for your attention… Oh, he just likes your fishing rod.

Fisherman Hisato

Pokemon Level Type
"Feebas" IconFeebas 30 Water
"Gyarados" IconGyarados 31 Water/Flying

One ugly, weak fish and one fearsome and bulky sea monster. Use Electric-type Pokemon (or moves) if you have any to tame the latter.

North from Hisato and south-east from the entrance is part of a road that’s collapsed. Around here, if it’s night time, you can retrieve a "Zygarde" IconZygarde Cell (50) from among the rubble. Next, head towards the point where the collapsed road meets the shore.

It’s not immediately obvious, but you can climb up here. Once on the broken road, follow it in an easterly direction. Along the way, grab the Max Potion below the side of the hill. Past here is a ledge that will take you close to the supermarket.

Well, close, but not quite close enough. From here, head down the slope. Back on the shore, there’s a trainer nearby who wants your rare Pokemon. Probably.

Collector Kawika

Pokemon Level Type
"Togedemaru" IconTogedemaru 30 Electric/Steel
"Gabite" IconGabite 31 Dragon/Ground

True to his career choice, Kawika has two rare Pokemon. "Togedemaru" IconTogedemaru is doubly weak to Ground-types and susceptible to Fire and Fighting-types as well. Hit it quick before it levitates with Magnet Rise.

"Gabite" IconGabite is the middle evolution of "Gible" IconGible, a Pokemon you’ve yet to encounter, but will do soon. It’s doubly weak to Ice-types and doesn’t like Fairy or Dragon-types either.

Next, search the rubble west from the base of the slope to find a hidden Big Pearl . After that, carry on east from the slope. You’ll find Acerola waiting in front of the captain’s gates. Approach her and she’ll run further ahead. Before following, continue east from here.

Follow the edge of the shore, past the collapsed piece of road to find another Zygarde Cell (51) in the far corner. Return to the captain’s gates and head through it, up the stairs. As soon as you reach Acerola, she’ll explain how the trial works–as well as the usual rules.

In your own time, head through the door to the north-east to enter the supermarket and begin Acerola’s Ghost-type trial.
