While you still have time before the 3rd trial, book a ferry from the Heahea City ferry terminal back to Hau’oli City. When you arrive, Tauros Charge all the way to the Hau’oli City Beachfront. It won’t take long at all if you go at top speed.
Once there, go down and hit the beach. Run towards the edge of the beach, where the sand meets the sea and summon Lapras using the Ride Pager. It doesn’t matter where, although the further south the better. There’s not much to see here, so paddle south-east to the next area.
Near the Beachfront side, there’s a female trainer bobbing about in the water. Go over and make yourself known.
Swimmer Portia¶
This heart-shaped fish is fodder for your Grass and Electric-type Pokemon. Nothing more to be said, really.
From here, paddle east towards the isolated shore. While it may seem empty, have Stoutland sniff around the indented part of the cliff to discover a hidden Rare Candy . After that, jump back on Lapras and continue moving south.
You’ll pass between some large rocks in the sea. Around here, there’s a trainer swimming up and down. Also, feel free to check out any fishing spots you find along the way, especially if they’re bubbling.
Swimmer Jade¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Goldeen | 13 | Water |
Strange, why is her Pokemon so much lower Level than Portia’s? Nevermind and give it a good jolt with an Electric Pokemon or whip it into shape with a Grass Pokemon.
Follow the sea in a south-easterly direction, along the row of rocks blocking the entrance to a conspicuous sea cave. A minor spoiler: there’s nothing terribly exciting beyond the cave. As you approach the south-most side of Ten Carat Hill, you’ll find the exit.
On the other side, there’s a trainer swimming around to the east. You know what to do.
Swimmer Shelby¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Corsola | 18 | Water/Rock |
Grass-type Pokemon are perfect here, as their moves do 4x damage. Electric and Fighting Pokemon are good too.
Continue in a north-easterly direction. After a while, you should find another trainer swimming between the cliff side and the perimeter rocks.
Swimmer Kelsie¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Finneon | 18 | Water |
A weak fish Pokemon. Male Pokemon should be mindful of Attract, which can make them fall in love and stop attacking.
Next, chart a course east towards the big island. Sadly, you can’t land on the shore right now, what with the big rocks to the south blocking the way. For now, travel north-east along the north side of the island. You’ll also pass by a trio of islands.
After you’re clear of the islands, change course and travel directly east. Keep your eyes peeled for a submerged item. Go over and pick it up to discover it’s a Super Repel . Also around here is a trainer swimming in a wide circle.
Swimmer Kalani¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Wishiwashi | 18 | Water |
Barboach | 18 | Water/Ground |
You should be familiar with the sneaky Wishiwashi. This one is too low Level to form a School, so relax and take it out with the usual means, i.e. Electric or Grass.
Barboach you should have encountered in Brooklet Hill as well. Have your Grass Pokemon handle it if possible; definitely keep your Electric-types away.
From here, head north-west for the nearby shore. In the middle of this island, by the palm trees is a Soft Sand . Finally, hop back on Lapras from the western side of the island. Between here and the opposite shore is the final trainer of the area, swimming nonchalantly up and down.
Swimmer Yasu¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Tentacool | 18 | Water/Poison |
This ought to be a familiar face. Take it out with Electric or Psychic Pokemon if you have them.
There’s nothing else to see here, so paddle west back to the mainland. You’ll end up near the vicinity of Kukui’s lab. While you’re here, head towards the front of the lab. With luck, you should find a pair of Corsola nearby. Check them out and you’ll get a Wide Lens .
