Pokémon: Sun & Moon

Hano Grand Resort

By
Vincent Lau

The final place we’ll be visiting on Akala Island.

This resort, located directly east from Heahea City, is the perfect place to wind down after completing all of your trials on Akala Island. That said, there is some work to do here if you’re up for it. From the entrance, head east, then north towards the hotel entrance.

You will find the strange man from the Aether Foundation waiting for you inside the hotel. You can definitely keep him waiting, but we need to check out the hotel anyway. By the way, if you go west from the hotel entrance, there’s a fairly amusing hotel patron.

Inside the hotel foyer, head forward to bump into the man, who introduces himself as Faba. To thank you for saving his behind, he’ll allow you to visit his workplace, Aether Paradise. As soon as you’re ready… to decline, answer “No” so you can continue exploring the hotel.

Of course, you can return to the hotel later at any time, but it’s funny to see his response. Anyway, from Faba, head west towards the south-west corner. The breeder admiring the painting can check your Pokemon’s progress. If it’s gained enough levels, he’ll give it the Footprint Ribbon .

North-east from him is a tourist who can teach a special move to your Mythical Pokemon: Secret Sword to "Keldeo" IconKeldeo and Relic Song to "Meloetta" IconMeloetta. These moves allow those Pokemon to change forms, so keep this in mind if you’re planning to use them.

Continue north-west, towards the west-most side of the hotel. Around here is a "Machamp" IconMachamp being harassed by two lovely ladies. Try to rescue him to wind up in a Pokemon battle.

Golf Buddies Tara and Tina

Pokemon Level Type
"Oricorio" IconOricorio (Pa’u Style) 25 Psychic/Flying
"Oricorio" IconOricorio (Pom-Pom Style) 25 Electric/Flying

The pink "Oricorio" IconOricorio is the Psychic/Flying one, while the yellow Oricorio is Electric/Flying. Both are weak to Rock and Ice moves, while the former is also weak to Dark and Ghost moves. Avoid using “dance” moves as the Oricorio will copy them.

Well, that was an unexpected conclusion. Either way, you’ll receive TM45 Attract . Moving on, head north-east towards the northern part of the hotel. Just before the giant glass waterfall, chat to the Veteran with the "Rockruff" IconRockruff to be invited to another battle.

Veteran Roger

Pokemon Level Type
"Trumbeak" IconTrumbeak 27 Normal/Flying

A Pokemon you may have encountered along Route 8 or the upper half of Route 6; the middle evolution of "Pikipek" IconPikipek. It’s a bit stronger, but so too are your Pokemon. Hit it with Rock, Electric or Ice moves for a clean victory.

Show off your skills and you’ll be rewarded with a Metronome . Give this to a Pokemon and it will boost the power of moves used multiple times in a row. Akin to making them a one-hit wonder. Yup, that’s a fine recommendation from an “up and coming” music star…

That’s all the goodies to be found inside, although you can wander around the rest of the foyer if you want. When you’re content, exit the hotel and head east to the next area. Don’t worry, Faba will be standing there all day; until the end of time, even.
