Most of the trophies and achievement in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii are fairly straightforward, as they revolve around the basic gameplay systems. There are some, however, that you have to go out of your way to get, like the Rocket Sniper trophy/achievement. This one will ask you to sink five enemy ships with the rocket launcher, which is a little more annoying than it sounds. This page will give some tips on how to easily unlock this trophy/achievement.
Unlocking the Rocket Sniper Trophy/Achievement¶
You will unlock the rocket launcher fairly early in your adventure, with the game offering a brief tutorial about it on one of your first trips out to sea. In order to use the rocket launcher, you first need to go from sailing your ship to switching over to the deck. Once you do that, you can simply hold down L2/LT to bring out your rocket launcher, then press R2/RT to fire the rocket launcher. One of the bigger problems here is that your base rocket launcher is kind of weak, so it would take a lot of shots to actually down a ship with it.
(1 of 3) The Captain’s Meteor Launcher is the ideal way to unlock this.
Thankfully, there are two ways you can go about getting this trophy/achievement. The first is to weaken an enemy ship until they have very little health remaining, then go onto the deck and shoot them with your rocket launcher until they’re destroyed. One problem with this is that your basic launcher only has ten shots and it’s not very strong at all, so you’d need to have the enemy vessel at very low health. The other way, which is what you should do, is upgrade your rocket launcher into a more powerful one.
Whenever you get the ability to upgrade your ship, you can go into the Change Equipment menu at any point where you get to pick your destination. Scroll over to the Rocket Launcher tab and go down to the Captain’s Meteor Launcher. This costs $10,000 to purchase and has a nice 350 attack rating, which is about seven times the base weapon. Equip it and get into fights with random ships while exploring, destroying all but one. From there, it’s just a matter of going onto the deck, maybe popping a smoke screen, then pelting the ship with rockets until they go down. Do this with five ships to unlock the trophy/achievement.
