On Rich Island, Majima will set up a little haven for animals called Goro Kingdom. At first, it’s just Goro and the chicken you rescue from the one NPC. Later on in the game, though, you will be able to rescue some more animals and send them over to the island. It is there that you can feed them and fill up an affection gauge, which will eventually allow you to take them on the Goromaru with your crew.
Pirate Yakuza allows you to obtain some pets for your Goro Kingdom!
All Animal Rescue Locations¶
The following table gives a quick breakdown of all the pets in the game, along with a general location where they can be found. Further detail will be provided below, with each animal getting its own little section. Remember that they won’t appear on the map until you’ve gotten Onigiri, which occurs automatically whenever you are going to Diamond Head for a bounty. In fact, the Substory with Onigiri will occur just outside of Diamond Head.
Animal | Location |
---|---|
Goro | Automatic during story |
Phoenix | Automatic during story |
Onigiri | Substory 4 (Automatic during story) |
Allure | Just east of Aloha Bridge |
CoCo | Right next to Cream & Berry (River St.) |
Zoomies | At Docks, next to Pier taxi spot |
The Gourmand | Riverside Walk |
Turtle | North end of Kaku Ave |
Alarm Cluck | In little alley just west of Ayame St. taxi |
Barkley | By northeastern exit of Anaconda Mall |
Sanzen | Sunset Park |
Allure the Cat Pet Location¶
Allure is probably the best that requires the most work, with it being found on Aloha St, just before the Aloha Bridge. The NPC there mentions that the cat seems to be missing its former residence, and nothing seems to be working. They suggest that maybe dressing up as a hostess will do the job. Unfortunately, you cannot purchase the necessary items for this outfit, as it can only be found in a container.
(1 of 4) Allure will be found right before the Aloha Bridge.
Goromi Container Location¶
The customization/costume set you’ll need is called Goromi and it’s found in a container in the Cultural District. This is the area just west of the Anaconda Shopping Center, so head on over there and look for the LiberTea shop. If you have the Night St taxi stop, then it’s literally right next to it. In fact, fast travel to that spot and look for the little, covered seating area right there. You will see the container under there, so open it for the Goromi customization set.
Once you have that, head on over to Revolve and go upstairs to the dressing room. Pick any of the slots at the top, hit R2/RT to go to the Clothing Set option and scroll until you find Goromi. Save the clothing change, exit Revolve and return to the cat. Speak to the NPC and you will have Allure join Goro Kingdom.
Gourmand the Dog Pet Location¶
For this animal’s location, head on over to Riverside Walk, the stretch of land just south of the Diamond Head taxi spot. When you speak to the NPC next to the dog, he’ll ask you for some Wild-Caught Sashimi, as it’s the only thing that the dog will eat, apparently. While you can randomly get this in the ocean from trying to catch fish, it’s much, much easier to just purchase it.
(1 of 3) Gourmand is found on Riverside Walk, about halfway down it.
Fresh-Caught Sashimi Location¶
Fast travel to the Aloha Beachfront taxi spot, then head straight south and into the water. Continue swimming straight south until you see a raft, which is the Grayson’s Weapons at Sea shop. Not only does he have a chest with a treasure for sale, but he also sells Wild-Caught Sashimi. Purchase one, bring it back to the dog, and you will have a new pet for the Goro Kingdom.
CoCo the Chimpanzee Pet Location¶
This one is close to the Riverside Walk, from the previous animal. If you are not doing these in order, then fast travel to either the Anaconda Shopping Mall or Anaconda Harbor Park taxi spots. From there, head west (if the latter) and you’ll eventually reach the Cream & Berry (River St.) shop. There is an NPC right by a coconut tree, just north of that shop. Speak to the NPC to learn that a chimpanzee is in the tree and won’t come down. You will be able to try and help the chimp off the tree, leading to three options to pick from. None of them are the correct one, as you simply need to exhaust all three to get the chimp off of the tree. Once the chimp is down, you’ll get it as a pet.

Sanzen the Cow Pet Location¶
Sanzen is found in Sunset Park, which is located in the Downtown area of West Honolulu. Sunset Street is on the western side of Anaconda Shopping Mall, and the park is on the north end of that road. Speak to the NPC next to the cow to learn that he was a farmer that had to pretty much sell everything to makes ends meet. The only thing left is the cow, so he offers to sell it to you for $3,000. Simply pay him the money to make the cow your pet.

Zoomies the Dog Pet Location¶
Zoomies is found right next to the Pier taxi spot, in the southwestern corner of West Honolulu. Approach the dog to see a NPC, who will mention that the dog is set to be adopted, but the guy can’t seem to catch the thing. Before he gets a chance to do anything, the dog runs off, so he enlists your help in grabbing the canine. Thankfully, you don’t have to actually do much, as the dog will be on the western side of the building. Get close to the dog and interact with it to start a little thing, where you move a dial. Go somewhere towards the middle to successfully complete it, which will calm the dog down and get him to your Goro Kingdom.
(1 of 3) Zoomies will be located just next to the Pier taxi spot in West Honolulu.
Turtle the Dog Pet Location¶
On the corner of Waikiki Street and Kaku Avenue, you will find this dog, as well as two NPCs. Upon close inspection, it seems these two morons are taking out their frustrations on the dog, so you butt in and decide to teach them a lesson. After beating both of them up, the dog is happy, so you name it and send it on its way to Goro Kingdom.

Alarm Cluck the Chicken Pet Location¶
A little west of the Ayame Street taxi spot in Little Japan, you will see a little alley-like area in the housing area. This is where you will find Alarm Cluck, one of the pets you can recruit. It seems one of the residents here isn’t too happy with the chicken, as he works at nights and sleeps during the day, which is interrupted thanks to the noises made by the bird. Your meddling sets him off, triggering a fight that isn’t really difficult at all. After defeating the NPC, you will end up sending Alarm Cluck to Goro Kingdom.

Barkley the Dog Pet Location¶
Barkley is found in the western half of Honolulu, right by the northeastern exit of the Anaconda Shopping Center. The dog will keep barking, as it’s quite hungry, so the NPC next to it will ask you to give it some Pet Food. You likely have some already on hand, but if not, you can go to any ABC Store to purchase some (cheapest kind will work). After feeding the Pet Food to the dog, you will name it as usual, then send it off to Goro Kingdom.

The only real reason to collect the pets is because of the Making a Menagerie trophy/achievement, which requires you to get a total of 7 pets. Since three are story-related, that means you only have to get four more. However, while there are no other benefits to just collecting the pets, they are a great source of materials for cooking, so it’s a good idea to get all of them.
