At the start of Chapter 3, as you exit the bar, you will have a short conversation with Captain Beef. He mentions he knows someone named Shen-san, who talks about some Golden Balls that are hidden in Honolulu and Madlantis, starting Substory 24. Should you find all seven of the Golden Balls, then you will have a wish granted for you. While you might think this is a pretty open-ended hunt, you soon receive a text from Shen giving you some hints for the Golden Balls’ whereabouts. Some can still be a little tricky to pinpoint, so this page will detail the locations of each one, as well as what the wishes do.

Golden Ball Location #1¶

The first on the list says “Chinese Medicine Shop,” which makes you think of Chinatown in Honolulu. If you don’t know where that is, it’s pretty much the northwestern corner on the western side of the map. If you have the Lotus St taxi spot, fast travel there, as it’s closest to your destination. There are a lot of shops in Chinatown, but one stands out from the rest, as it’s called Wan Shang Tong Herbal Medicine. Upon entering the shop, look at the diagrams of the human bodies on the back wall, where you should notice that one of them has something golden on it. This is the Golden Ball, so use your Chain Hook to grab it.

Golden Ball Location #2¶

The second location hint simply mentions “Sushi restaurant,” which isn’t too much to go on, considering it’s Hawaii. However, if you’ve done anything else in the game, then you know there is a restaurant called Shinobi Sushi in the Little Japan area. It’s right by the shrine, so you have a fast travel spot right in front of it. When you get there, don’t go inside, but instead look at the sign above the entrance. The one side has a ninja and you can see the ball on it, so grab it with the Chain Hook.

Golden Ball Location #3¶

Third on the list talks about the “Seaside Avenue pool,” but this is a bit misleading, as there isn’t a visible pool in that area on the map. There is a Seaside Ave taxi stop on the northern end of the street, but the Golden Ball is more towards the southern end. As you run south, you should see the pull-in area for the building here. If you haven’t done the bounty yet, then Walker (one of the bounties, of course) is also underneath this spot. Ignore him and go up the small set of stairs to see a pool on the other side of the white wall. Look through one of the openings to see a man sitting on a lawnchair, who will have the Golden Ball on him.

Golden Ball Location #4¶

For this one, your given clue say “pawn shop masked doll.” The problem is that there are four pawn shops in Honolulu, so you’ll need to find the correct one. The right pawn shop is the one on Hula Ave, which is just east of Julie’s Gearworks Main Shop. If you look through the front window, you should see a mannequin in it, which will have the Golden Ball on him. You’ll have to go inside the shop to retrieve it with your Chain Hook, though.

Golden Ball Location #5¶

This is the easiest one on the list, since all you have to do is purchase this one. Head on over to where the Sicko Snap NPC is located, just west of the Aloha Beach taxi spot. Speak to him and redeem your points to see the Golden Ball at the bottom of the list. It costs 3,333 points, so if you don’t have that already, just do some of the Sicko Snap minigames until you have those points.

Golden Ball Location #6¶

The last two Golden Balls are found at Madlantis, so travel over there with your boat. The first of the two is found on top of the Dunghill bar, so look for the stairs on the side that allow you to get on its roof. Once on top, head on over to the opposite side with the people inside the caged area. From there, turn around and look up, back towards the stairs. You should see a man standing on a ledge here, with the Golden Ball, so all you have to do is grab it with your Chain Hook.

Golden Ball Location #7¶

The final ball on this list isn’t too far from the previous one, and is close to the Pirates’ Coliseum’s registration desk. Upon going there, start moving to the west of the desk, stopping at the base of the stairs that lead upwards. Turn towards the south and look for a man in the background here, who should have the Golden Ball on him. If you have trouble seeing it, then try aiming, as the ball will be highlighted blue.

What To Wish For in Pirate Yakuza¶

After retrieving all seven of the Golden Balls, you will receive another text from Shen, saying to meet him at the docks in Hawaii. Specifically, he’s in the southwestern corner of the western half of Honolulu. After speaking to him, you will have a choice of four different wishes.

Despite having four choices, only three matter, as picking Peaceful Life will just have to try to pick another of the remaining three. Choosing the Rich option will just straight up give you $10,000 in cash, which is nice, but it’s not a whole lot. Similarly, the Sexy Panties option will reward you with a pair of Shen’s Golden Undies, an item you can sell for $15,000 at any pawn shop. That leaves the Eternal Life choice, which gives you 100x Staminan X items. These are nice, but there’s a huge problem with this option, as you can only carry five at a time, so the rest will be put in storage.

Using the items also means the ones in storage don’t automatically get put into your inventory, either, so while that option seems good, it’s a lot of effort to always retrieve them from your item box. Thus, the best option, assuming you don’t mind going back for the items, is the Sexy Panties one, since it gives you the more money out of the two cash ones. Shen will also join your pirate crew as a fighter.
