The games in the Like a Dragon series are always filled with plenty of things to distract you from the main story, and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is no different. Once you make it to Hawaii, one of the first things you will do is end up meeting with a familiar mascot, Kamulop. He is once again found near the shrine in Little Japan and he will ask you to find the Fortune Slips that are scattered across Honolulu.
You’re reintroduced to Kamulop pretty early in your adventure.
Fortune Slip Locations¶
As with the previous game, all of the Fortune Slips are found in Honolulu and look similar to the random items you can pick up. They are always found outdoors, so you won’t really need to go searching every inch should you enter an indoor area. Slightly different in this game is that some Fortune Slips are out of reach. That’s because you need the Chain Hook, which you’ll automatically get as you play the story in Chapter 2. Thus, it might be a good idea to wait until you get that before you start hunting down the Fortune Slips.
Another huge thing to wait for is the reward for completing all courses of Sicko Snap, one of the minigames near the beach in Honolulu. The reward for doing so is the Scope Ring, an item you can equip that shows the location of not only treasure chests on the minimap, but also Fortune Slips. Note that this is only the minimap in the lower left corner of the screen and not the full map, so they will only be shown as you’re exploring. As with the previous game, the Fortune Slips come in four different types, with each one being worth a different amount of points.
Fortune | Points |
---|---|
Bad Fortune | 1 |
Modest Fortune | 2 |
Good Fortune | 3 |
Great Fortune | 4 |
(1 of 4) You’ll find a lot of Fortune Slips all over Honolulu.

Note that the crewmates won’t appear on the list until you reach the point where you can start recruiting. Naturally, you’ll want to save up for the treasure chest first, since it will not only get you a treasure, but also money. In this case, the chest contains the Sunshine Stone treasure, worth a nice $11,900. As for the crewmates, Kamulop is a support one, so he won’t be doing any fighting. Sugiura and Chitose both have a higher level cap, so they are probably not too bad for your crew. Etsuko will give you a Leopard Print Sweater customization item upon getting her, but she’s not too impressive stats-wise.
