Making money in the Like a Dragon games isn’t something that is always easy, although there is usually something that eventually makes it much simpler. Money in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii doesn’t have a surefire way of getting rich quick, but there are plenty of methods in which to accrue those dollars and start saving. This page will look at some of the ways in which you can earn money.
Find Treasures¶
One of the first methods of making money in Pirate Yakuza will be finding the various treasures. A majority of the treasure are hidden in chests, which you usually get in a few ways. The first way is to simply sail to the various islands with the chest icon, do whatever you need to do on that island to clear it, and receive the treasure as a reward. The second way for treasure chests involves doing the various minigames throughout your journey. A good number of the minigames will have a points system, which you can then turn in to purchase various items, some of which are treasure chests.

The third way of getting the chests is to simply find them while exploring. Once you clear the Sicko Snap minigame to its fullest, you will receive the Scope Ring, which will show the location of chests on the minimap. They will only appear when you get close enough to them, plus Noah will usually chime in and mention something about a treasure. Note that these chests typically require you to use the Chain Hook to reach them, so you won’t be able to open them until you unlock that tool.
Defeat Bounties¶
Around halfway or so in Chapter 2 of the main story, you will unlock Bounties, which are enemies you can defeat that are littered across the map. Each of these Bounties will have a monetary value attached to them, that you earn upon beating them in battle. None of the Bounties should be particularly difficult, as long as you keep in mind to not get too greedy with your attacks. The lowest amount of money you’ll get from a Bounty is $2,500 and some of the higher values include $16,000 and sometimes even $32,000. Considering there are over 50 of them, you can see that you can get some good money from them.

Pirates’ Coliseum¶
Another method to earning some money is via the Pirates’ Coliseum in Madlantis. This isn’t going to be a huge amount of money, but as the previous two ways are finite, you can get a steady stream of income by simply repeating the easier bouts in the coliseum. The harder ones are worth more money, but they may take you longer to do them, so there’s always the time-to-money ratio here. Ideally, you want a challenge that can be finished quickly and with an S-Rank
Selling Items¶
Of course, the most common way to get money in this game is to just sell things. Note that pawn shops are really the only place where you can sell stuff, but you technically don’t want to sell everything. In particular, there are specific valuables that are meant to be sold, like the plate items, with the Platinum Plate being the best out of those. Those items have pretty much been in most of the games of the series as the sole purpose of getting you money. However, there are two items worth a little more than the Platinum Plate, the Swiss Watch and the Vintage Luxury Watch.
The latter is worth $5,000, but there isn’t a surefire way of farming them. You can find them as prizes for most of the minigames that have point redemptions, but it tends to be quite expensive and there are more practical rewards you should get first. You can find some of the plates and watches while exploring, so keep a lookout for them and sell them when you need the funds.
