Kingdom Come: Deliverance

In God's Hands

By
Scott Peers

This quest can be acquired from Johanka, who is found tending the sick at the Sasau monastery. She is having trouble taking care of the sick and wounded from Skalitz, with only Brother Nicodemus and Brother Elias to help her. Exhaust the dialogue options to discover precisely what needs to be done.

The first task is to set the broken bone in one of the refugee’s legs. However, before you do that you should complete the optional objectives first. You can start by fulfiling the basic needs of the refugee population; hunt 100 game meat and bring it to the infirmary. You will find a deer hunting spot just north of the monastery, as seen on the map below.

The location of the deer hunting spot. You should only need to kill one deer to acquire a sufficient amount of meat. If you have trouble hunting deer, there are plenty of hare in the region will also provide game meat.

The next optional objective is to speak with Brother Nicodemus about how to get better conditions for the sick. Exhaust the dialogue options until the objective updates to ‘Try to get supplies from the Custodian’. You will find the Custodian in the house north of the monastery. When you first speak with him he will be uninterested in helping. However, you have two options of persuasion…

To persuade the Custodian to help with supplies, you can choose to either pay him directly or use Johanka to bribe him.

Whichever you choose, once you have secured the supplies you can go back to the refugees and begin inspecting them. You should begin by setting the leg of the man in agony.

Set the man’s broken leg with the help of Brother Nicodemus and Brother Elias.

The next refugee you can help is Hans. He is indeed of bandages, so you will have to acquire at least ten before you can help him. Once you have the bandages, speak with him and he will accept them graciously. You can now ask Brother Nicodemus to patch him up, or do it yourself if you have the necessary skill.

You can find Hans lying on the floor in the corner. Provide him with bandages and see to it that they are applied properly.

The next person in need of help can be found to the left of Hans. Quarryman Semek has been feeling awful, and he needs a remedy in the form of a purple herb to help him. The herb in question is Comfrey. If you do not already have one, you can speak with Brother Nicodemus and buy one from him. Alternatively you can simply take one from the shelf in his workshop.

Give the Comfrey herb to Semek and wait a few days before going back to see how he is doing.

Once you have helped Semek a cut scene will initiate in which the Custodian arrives to dote on Johanka. He will confront you about your business with her, and you have three options to respond with.

You can choose to be confrontational, diplomatic, or simply do as the Custodian says and leave things be.

When the cut scene ends you can get back to helping the sick and wounded. Next in line is the Insomniac, who can be cured relatively easily. You will need to purchase or make a Lullaby potion. The potion can be purchased from the apothecary in Rattay, or you can use the facilities in Brother Nicodemus’ workshop to make one yourself. Give the potion to the Insomniac and he will be content for now. Note that when you revisit him in a day or two you will have to provide him with more potions.

Finally, you will have the task of finding out what is wrong with Phillip from Skalitz. Inspecting him will begin the process, as you notice that he has no wounds but is shaking terribly. Speak with Johanka to find out more. She will inform you that he hid among the corpses in Skalitz for days, and may have been poisoned during that time. The only person in the region who might know how to cure him is Father Simon.

The search for Father Simon will lead you to Rovna. You must speak with a villager there to begin the quest ‘A Man of the Cloth’. Once you have completed the quest Father Simon will teach you how to make the Artemesia Potion needed to cure Phillip.

Once you have cured all of the sick and wounded of their ailments, speak with Johanka and inform her that you have done all that you can. She will thank you and the quest will complete.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an open-world RPG set in the last throes of the Middle Ages. The year is 1403 and the Kingdom of Bohemia is about to be plunged into turmoil. Henry, a resdient of the castle town Skalitz, is the son of a renowned blacksmith. When Skalitz is attacked, both of his parents are killed by the invading forces of Hungarian King Sigismund, led by Sir Markvart von Aulitz. Henry’s quest then becomes your own; to exact vengeance upon those who destroyed his hometown, friends and family.
