Much like Final Fantasy X, the monster-capturing system in FFX-2 is not solely for the capture of monsters. As a result of meeting certain conditions within that quest itself, you can further yourself in the Colosseum, unlocking new tournaments for you to participate in. These tournaments are of a random nature for the most part. After all, tournaments are not of a set nature in this game; it almost seems like it’s just an RNG for, after all, we’ve seen Major Numerus lose. Yes, Major Numerus. The ultimate enemy in this game. Lose.
Within the Colosseum, after meeting all of the proper conditions, you can fight in up to ten different tournaments, or Cups, and each are slightly random. Within the course of this section, you will learn as much information as we can give regarding the Cups and the enemies therein. These include the prizes from the tourneys, their unlocking conditions, and - where appropriate - boss analysis on the tougher enemies. As these strategies have a lot of randomness surrounding them, we have used the one we thought most effective. There are, of course, numerous other ways to defeat them. For the record, most of the strategies were written assuming end-game stats.
