If you’re making your way through Wo Long: Fallen Legacy, you’re probably building a bunch of Genuine Qi, ready to spend on levelling your warrior. Now, while levelling in other Soulslike games works by pumping levels into a plethora of different stats, requiring a fine balance, the system in place in Wo Long is far simpler.
However, there is still a max level in place and this guide will teach you all about this so you know how far off you are, and how much Genuine Qi grinding you’ll have to do to reach it.
Wo Long Max Level Explained¶
As previously alluded to, the levelling system in Wo Long works differently to that of similar games. This is because you’re given five Virtues to pump your Genuine Qi into, all contributing to other stat increases as well as your overall character level.
The five Virtues are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water And its up to you as to which you want to increase to essentially ‘craft’ a build. Choosing to put points into each of these will also gain your Wizardry Spells related to the Virtues, again adding to the whole build mechanic.
Moving to what you came here for - the max level situation in Wo Long, this works by combining each of the Virtues to create an overall level number. For example, if you have 10 points in each of the four Virtues this will equate to a total level of 40.
In the Wo Long demo, this max level number was capped at 100, something that in our eyes, was certainly generous since you were locked out of most of the content. In the full game, the Wo Long max level was increased to 150, something welcomed by players who want to sink their teeth into the game and maybe aim for multiple playthroughs.
What’s great here is that even if you are dumping a bunch of Genuine Qi in to level and realise that your build isn’t what you thought it would be, even if you’re not at that max level of 150, you can respec at any point absolutely free of charge.
