East Wood is located on the eastern end of the Broadleaf area and upon entering, you will automatically be given this sidquest. A monster inspector was sent here to investigate something that seems to be infected with dark, misty stuff. However, he thinks it’s a waste of time, which can be done doing something more productive, slee…“important research.” The Tainted Monster is located at the end of the mini-dungeon, and is level 47 Crystolith. Go into your Tactic Tweaker and set the Monster Affinity to Solidity to deal more damage to it.

This enemy is similar to the Crystal Crypt ones in the Broadleaf area, so if you’ve fought them before, then you know what they do. If not, then recall the boss you fought outside of the dice factory during Chapter 4. It has all of the same moves, except instead of spinning around during the combo, it will shoot out some orbs that track you. You’ll receive 2 Savior’s Tears for winning the battle, then you’ll automatically return to the man to finish the quest.
