Substories are the wackier stories in the Like A Dragon series, to offshoot the more serious tone of the main story. You will first unlock the ability to do Substories in Chapter 2, although they aren’t shown on your map, so you will need to fully explore each map to find them. This page will give a walkthrough of the Finders Weepers Substory, found in Gion.
Where to Start Finders Weepers in Like a Dragon: Ishin¶

During Chapter 4, you will start the Another Life section of the game, where you have access to a second home. Once you gain access to that section of the game, you will be able to do a lot of the Substories during Chapter 4. Head over to Gion and go to the large gate on the southeastern side of the area. If you look closely, you should see something on the ground and upon getting close enough, you will be able to interact with it. Go ahead and do that to start the Substory.
All Correct Answers for Finders Weepers in Like a Dragon: Ishin¶
The item you can interact with seems to be someone’s diary, so take a peek to read some of its contents. It appears the person wrote about their feelings for someone, although the love is a bit one-sided, as they struggle on whether to tell the person or not. Eventually, though, you will be able to write something in the diary, to give some advice to the author. The first prompt will occur during the initial reading, and you want to answer with All love is precious.

After you choose an answer, you will need to exit Gion completely, with the southwestern exit being the obvious choice. Return to the diary to read some more, then you’ll be asked another question, with the answer you want being Try getting to know him. Exit Gion and come back again for more diary reading, with the answer you want to choose being Better to be simple and direct. Leave Gion one final time, returning to where the diary was located, only for you to find two people there. Watch the scene that occurs, which will bring you to the end of the Substory.
