This page focuses on where you can find and complete all six Unwritten Tales in the Iki Island Expansion for Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut. These are completely optional and hidden Tales that are not marked on the map.
What are Unwritten Tales?¶
Despite their name, Unwritten Tales are not as long or complicated as any of the other Tales in Ghost of Tsushima. These are often similar to world events in other open world games and you won’t find these marked in your Journal at all. With that in mind, it’s usually a better idea to set out and complete these all at once, so you don’t lose track of what ones you have or haven’t done. Completing all of these will reward some Legend and unlock the Common Courtesy Trophy. Below, you’ll find a table with all of the unwritten tales and how to complete them:
Unwritten Tale | Location | Prerequisite | How to Complete |
---|---|---|---|
Bury the Captain | Northern beach, west of Yahata Lighthouse | – | You’ll find the Ship captain who took you to Iki Island, simply honor him by giving him a proper burial. |
The Beekeeper | Old Gambler’s Wood - West of Iki Island | – | You’ll find a house in these woods with a beekeeper there. Speak to him, then defend him from the Mongols before speaking a second time. |
Kodama | Burned house at Sanjo Gorge | – | Interact with the banner then head to the purple-leafed trees and defeat the Mongols. Return to Kodama to find a scroll with steps to follow and complete. |
Peasants at the Lake | Lake at Buddha’s Footprints | – | Head to the large lake at Buddha’s Footprints and defeat the Mongols drowning the Peasants. |
Hidden Archery Challenge | Raider Memorial - South coast of Buddha’s Footprints | Complete 1 Archery Challenge, wear Tadayori’s Armor | Speak to the man at the bow rack and then complete the challenge with at least a Bronze. |
Legends Mode Tale | Yahata Forest | Complete the story in Legends Mode | You must first complete the story in the online mode, Legends. Once done, head to the hut in the forest and speak to Uta twice to tell her the tale. |
