How to Unlock the Spinning Wheel

In order to build a Spinning Wheel you’ll need to unlock the recipe by analyzing an "Acorn Top" iconAcorn Top or "Web Fiber" iconWeb Fiber at the Resource Analyzer. You can then place a blueprint for the Spinning Wheel in the world and add resourced to it to make it.

The Spinning Wheel doesn’t make things instantaenously and you’ll need to wait a while for different ropes to be spun. In game, it takes 1 hour and 12 minutes to complete a single rope (2 minutes and 24 seconds in real time).

The Spinning Wheel is important for making silk rope.

How to Get Clay

"Clay" iconClay is obtained from digging up red boulders found in and around puddles and ponds. You’ll need an acorn shovel to dig up clay - head over to our guide on How to Make an "Acorn Shovel" iconAcorn Shovel for more information.

Clay can be shovelled from red rocks under water and around it.

How to Get Acorn Tops

Acorn Tops can be obtained from smashing up acorns using a Hammer. Acorns are found most often around the Oak Lab - watch out for spiders in this area though! For more information on crafting hammers, head over to our guide on How to Make a Pebblet Hammer.

Acorns can be found near the Oak Lab - smash them using a hammer!

How to Get Red Ant Parts

"Red Ant Part" iconRed Ant Parts are obtained through killing "Red Worker Ant" iconRed Worker Ants and "Red Soldier Ant" iconRed Soldier Ants. They can be found around the Mysterious Machine and around Ant Totem Cave. They aren’t hostile until you hit them, but be careful of when you do engage them - sometimes there’ll be more than one hanging around and that’s when you might run into some trouble.

Fight off some red ants to obtain Red Ant Parts.

How to Make Crude Rope

Crude Ropes can be crafted by hand using x3 "Plant Fiber" iconPlant Fiber per Crude Rope. Plant Fibers can be obtained from picking small, low-lying plants which can be found all over the ground. And before you can make Crude Rope, you’ll need to first analyze Plant Fiber at the Resource Analyzer to unlock the recipe.

How to Get Sap

"Sap" iconSap is a sticky yellow goo that can be found all over branches, particularly around Oak Hill. You can also find lots of sap on the shelves in the Oak Lab.

Once you possess a hammer you can also obtain them from large globs of Sap. And later on, you could even make a Sap Catcher to collect sap from the comfort of your base!

Sap can be found in the Oak Lab as well as out in the open.
