This page offers a guide on how to make a Gill Tube in Grounded. The Gill Tube is an important armor piece that allows you to breathe underwater for double the time (80s).

How to Unlock the Gill Tube Recipe¶

In order to unlock the recipe for the Gill Tube, you’ll need to analyze an Eelgrass Strand at the Resource Analyzer. Without the Gill Tube, you only 40 seconds of breathing time, whereas when you have the tube equipped you’ll have 80 seconds!

Required Materials for Making a Gill Tube¶

You’ll need the following materials to make the Gill Tube:

Resource	Quantity
Lilypad Wax	x2
Eelgrass Strand	x4
Silk Rope	x2

How to Get Lilypad Wax¶

Lilypad Wax is a resource picked up from the underside of the large lilypads on Koi Pond. You don’t need a tool to collect it!

How to Get Eelgrass Strands¶

Eelgrass Strands are a material obtained from Eelgrass. To chop down Eelgrass, you’ll need a dagger - it can be any tier dagger! The Pebblet Dagger recipe can be unlocked by analyzing Lilypad Wax and then it can be made easily using x2 Pebblets, x2 Crude Rope and x2 Lilypad Wax. Eelgrass is found underwater and is a tall, green seaweed-like plant with black dots on it.

Chop the eelgrass with your dagger to get eelgrass strands.

How to Get Silk Rope¶

Silk Rope can be made from x1 web fiber using the Spinning Wheel. Web Fiber is obtained from attacking spider webs. Head over to our guide on how to build a Spinning Wheel if you’ve not got one yet!

You may have also picked up some Silk Rope at Hedge Lab! If you’ve still got it lying around somewhere, this is as good a use as any.
