Moths, the demons of the night, the huggers of light, are a tier 3 neutral enemy in Grounded. These fluffy lamp lovers are some of the rarest enemies you will encounter. This is because Grounded’s moths are hidden in far away and hard-to-reach places, so you need to go on a hazardous task to get to them.
However, it is all worth it, as you can get items like Moth Fuzz and Moth Scale, which are used to make a special armor players can use in the end game. Here are all the moth locations in Grounded, along with tips on how to reach and fight them.
Five Moth Locations in Grounded¶
In total, there are five moth locations in Grounded. These are all in the Upper Grasslands area of, all of which are in troublesome spots.
Location | Map Marker |
---|---|
Upper Grasslands Lamp | Lamp map marker location |
Stump | Map Marker Stump Location |
Log | Log Map Marker Location |
Wheelbarrow | Wheelbarrow Map Marker Location |
Moldorc Castle | Moldorc Map Marker Location |
Most of these moth locations are fairly simple. Some require some simple parkour, while others are definitely much trickier.
Upper Grasslands Lamp¶
First on the list, and perhaps one of the easiest, is the Upper Grasslands Lamp. This Lamp is found near the stone wall that separates the Koi Pond area from the Upper Grasslands. To find this lamp, players will want to head directly south from the Lawnmower, and then reach the stone wall area. Now, all you need to do is parkour up from the long grass, finding ways to get to the top. Eventually, you’ll make your way closer to the lamp, with one of the blades of grass allowing you to climb onto the Lamp and reach the moth.
Stump¶
The second one can be found around the Stump area in the top right of the map. Players will need to climb the roots of the tree towards the northeast side. Eventually, players will reach the peak of the stump, with mushrooms and shattered bark everywhere. What players need to do is then parkour around the bark, heading west. The Moth will be on top of a very tall part of the stump. Now the strategy is to build stairs and climb up the to the platform. Some areas of the bark have places to build on, so you should be able to go from there. We recommend using the Clover Sloped Roof, since there are lots of clovers and weeds around to make it easy to build the four clover roofs we used to get up there.
Alternatively, you can use ranged weapons from other high points of the bark and attack it from afar to get its attention. You can even snipe it from the Stepladders on the north wall if you so wish.
Log¶
Next up is the Log, which is just to the southwest of the Stump. Here, players need to head into the centre of the log, and proceed to run up the woody ramp inside the log. From there, you will come across a splinter you can run across, along with some parkour to climb up. From there, you parkour outside the log, jumping on mushrooms, and crouch jumping along the bark. Eventually, you will reach the southwest part of the log and find the moth and a Mega Milk Molar for your troubles. Check out the gif showing you exactly how to do it to make it easier.
Wheelbarrow¶
Be aware that couch juming is needed in most of these steep leaves. If you dont crouch jump, chances are you will slide off to your death.
Moldorc Castle¶
The final one is in Moldorc Castle. The trick to this is that players will need to construct their own bridge to the castle, as there is no natural way to the castle. From there, you can run up the stairs to the south side, and then head to the roof. From there, you can jump on one of the wedges, and then aim a grenade or bow at the moth to get its attention.
Do be careful this area is filled with Tiger Mosquitos, so before you head up to fight the moth, make sure these baddies are dead, as you don’t want to handicap yourself.
Moth Tactics¶
Now you know how to get to all the moths in Grounded, here is how you fight them. The main thing you need to know is that fighting Moths is very similar to bees. They make their charging headbutt moves, alongside using a spell effect that causes bleeds with dust. It’s pretty much a poison move. All you need to do is dodge its attack, and you’ll be fine.
Players who use range to aggro the MOths, rather than building up parkouring up to them, will find it easier to beat them., Moreso, Moths are weak to Sour, Fresh, and Spicy, so use one of those themed weapons, you’ll do much more damage to them.
