How to unlock the Sujimon League in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

By
Echo Apsey

One of the many side activities in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the Sujimon League. This is a competitive, turn-based brawler where you collect human enemies you fight and have them battle it out against opponents. It is effectively, Pokémon but instead of cute little creatures you are collecting, you are collecting hulking great thugs with shields or sly thieves with knives, and you will need to unlock the Sujimon League in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth first before you can begin raising your rank.

By raising your rank, you can then battle other Sujimon trainers, spar with Gym Leaders in the Discreet Four, and take on the leader of the Sujimon League, King. However, to gain access from the Sujimon Sensei you will need to have played quite a good chunk of the game’s opening hours.

How to unlock the Sujimon League in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

The Sujimon League can be unlocked in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth by completing Substory "37 - Choosing Your Starter" icon37 - Choosing Your Starter, which is located on the upper floor of the Anaconda Shopping Center from Chapter 4 onwards. The shopping center is along Anaconda Boulevard on the Hawaii Map. When you reach the second floor, head to the opposite end of where the escalators are and you will get a call from the Sujimon Sensei, beginning the Substory.

During the quest, you will make your way down to the Sujimon League stadium, get introduced to how battling works, and obtain your first Sujimon for the Sujidex. Overall, battles are fairly easy to play as everything is turn-based with turns determined by the bars at the top of the screen. You can then use attacks to slowly damage enemies with elemental attacks based on their elemental type. Don’t worry there aren’t as many types as in Pokémon and it is quite simple to remember. Light will beat Shadow, Shadow will beat Light. Blaze will beat Nature, Nature will beat Frost, and Frost will beat Blaze.

The weaknesses are much easier to remember than in Nintendo’s series.

From there you will then get to use a Special Attack, try to boost its damage on the Don’t Rule Out Roulette wheel, and hopefully win your fight!

Upon completion, the Sujimon League will open up for you and the Sujimon Sensei will give you 10 Common Suji Gifts, which can be used to obtain new Sujimon. The Sensei will then have you take part in a Sujimon Raid, which is a regular fight, but at the end you are guaranteed to get the option to recruit a Sujimon. For an exact breakdown of how to obtain new Sujimon in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, check out our page on it.

Snagging Sujimon is not always as easy as this first opportunity leads you to believe.

After that battle, you can then move up the ranks in the Sujimon League to take on Sujimon Trainers throughout Hawaii, battle the Discreet Four in their Gyms, and take on the Sujimon League leader, King. Sujimon Stadium battles also open up for you to grow your Sujimon and train them.
